I am scared of pain when having my baby. So what has help you to deal with the pain? How can I deal with the pain? Any suggestions? What other medicine can I get that works like an epidural but doesn't require a needle in the spine? What has helped you? Thanks

I used the Bradley method of natural childbirth. I have used it four times and it reallly worked for me. Over 90% of those who use the Bradley method do not need pain medication. I have had hunger pains before that were worse than labor. Also take plenty of calcium. It will help prevent cramps.

Try to relax and use the breathing techniques they teach you in the child birth classes. Also, if you don't want an epidural they can give you a muscle relaxant such as Stadol or Demerol. This is not a pain killer, it doesn't numb you so you still feel the contractions and you can still feel when to push, but it will relax you and take the edge off. It will also make you feel high a a kite too, so if you don't want that I'd just go with the breathing techniques.
