We moved one city over 15 months ago. I got a library card in the new city, which is also a new county. We moved in July back to the original city/county. The library was updating addresses, so I gave my new one and they told me I have to pay $30 a year to use the library and I can only take out 25 or fewer books at a time. This library is 10 mintues from our house. The library in our new city is almost 40 minutes away (you actually have to get on the highway). So anyway, I called this new library and let them know I used to have a card in that county, but it's been over a year, so what do i need to do? I would need a drivers license with current address and something else with a photo ID, and a current bill of some sort with current address and my name. I have no other photo ID and I have no mail in my name. My husband gets it, as I'm a homemaker. So I asked if my husband could get one and I use it and they said no.

Is this normal? We love the library.

after 7 years together,we were going thru alot..life..he started to go on the road alot..i hated it but dealt with it , i was primary caretaker for my step daughter who is 14 yr, she has lived w/ us for 6 of those years as he had regained custody of her..i am her mommy..we have been going thru alot , death in the family , his absense ..i own a little store and have had a very hard time this year...he told me he loved me and that i never had to worry about loosing him to a woman...he was not a cheater,,i had to trust him ,to drive away all week. then when he came home for the weekends ,we were to tired to have much fun ,i do admit i did resent his job ,taking away from the family...i could have been more loving and appriciative rather then hurt and angry...i am lost ,anyone who knew us saw our devotion to one another..i started feeling used ..he is selfish and often put his wants before needs..like property tax ,,he has not been w/her but 3-4 weeks and moved,same day i got news he was

I have a no solicitators, no canvassers, no peddlers sign on my door -- they ignore it and knock anyway.

A long time ago I requested that they please take me off their list and stop visiting my home. They rudely ignore this and continue to make visits almost once a month.

It is so annoying!

Is there anything you can suggest so that I might be able to stop what feels like harrassment in my own home?
