Do you find this to be good news? It certainly shows we're winning the war on terror and that the surge is working brilliantly. This also makes the Military and President Bush look rather good. How do you feel about this?

JESUS came upon a small crowd who had surrounded a young woman they believed to be an adulteress. They were preparing to stone her to death. Jesus said: "Whoever is without sin among you, let them cast the first stone."

An old lady at the back of the crowd picked up a huge rock and lobbed it at the young woman, scoring a direct hit on her head. The young lady collapsed dead.

Jesus looked over towards the old lady and said: "Do you know, mother, sometimes you really p*** me off."

I bought a two-bulb flushmount ceiling light. Each bulb has its own set of black and white wires.

Is it OK to twist the two blacks of the fixture, and attach it to the outlet's black, and the same with the white? Is this how two fixtures make it to one outlet? This fixture has just one ground wire

I am 27 & ready for a different career. I would like to get into the medical field and one day become a RN and work with infants. I applied to my local college and the problem is I did terrible in high school and I have never taken the SAT or ACT test so the college is telling me I will have to start out with a mini-certificate in CNA and work my way up. Which is ok with me. But everyone I tell this to is constantly telling me that CNA work is not worth it, it's filthy, dirty work that won't amount to anything. I am getting really discouraged. People keep telling me I should skip all that & go straight into the RN program but I can't. The college already told me that I would have to start with a mini-certificate....even a LPN is a certificate & I can't even start with that. Please provide any encouragements & your advice on how I can get started in the medical field if my only option is to first get my CNA? And what can I expect? Thank you :-)

My mother was a hippie of sorts when I was young so I grew up listening to the Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin, Iron Butterfly, Jimmy Hendrix, Janis Joplin, etc. She became "born again" when I was about 10. The day she got "saved", she took all of those beautiful albums and smashed them up to smithereens with a sledge hammer in our backyard. I cried and begged her to just give them to me but she "rebuked" me. I ran into my room and cried for a long time. I will never forget that. What do you think of this?

I joined a company recently, and I think I screwed up, though I know that I have the right in this
at first I was sitting on the wrong place where I don't have a direct contact with my colleagues who are working on the same account with me.. so I asked the manager o replace me next to them in order to make work easier.. so he agreed and went out with me to show me my new place as it was an empty desk ... but guess that caused jealousy.. the receptionist girl said that she kinda "reserved" that place before me and that the boss told her she will sit on that too!! I was surprised and she talked to the administrator officer and he said the same thing too !! I was completely shocked.. so the admin. officer called me the next morning tellin me to hold until we sit again with the boss to discuss the matter.! but I didn't listen to him, explained to him politely the situation.. but I think that made him angry not listening to him and went to my manager and gave the wrong impression about me

I throw up when I eat McDonald's burgers. I can handle the fries and desserts there, but one bite into the nasty burger I throw up. (And especially after reading Fast Food Nation...)

And a lot of people know already that McDonald's is the most disgusting fastfood restaurant. How come people still go there?

While creationists would disagree, I believe humans were propelled to our current position in the food chain by the challenges we faced: Predators/prey inspired and developed our speed, stealth, cooperation, and cunning as a defense and a survival skill, as well serving to weed out the weak or infirm, ensuring that each new generation was stronger, and more apt to succeed. The same could be said for plagues, famines, conflicts, and any other challenge we've faced as a species - that they have been the fire in which our status as "dominant species" was forged.

Now, we consistently undermine the elements that would strengthen us further. Disease and famine are combated the world over, wars are treated with disdain, the unmotivated or incapable are fostered by the state and breed new generations of the same, and the only predators that remain to hone us are ourselves.

By eliminating most of what drives a creature to improve, how long before we start backpedaling into extinction?

I'm not saying only from Christians to be mean, but I'm more of a recent Christian and have a question b/c I'm still not sure about a lot of things. Anyway, here goes:

I know in the Bible it says that it's a sin to have sex before marriage but is that all sexual acts or just intercourse? I mean, kissing itself can lead to getting someone becoming sexually charged so isn't that a sexual act really? But no one says kissing before marriage is a sin. I'm just really confused...I guess I'm just looking for opinions since no one will really know 100% till you get to Heaven right?

My daughter is a great kid relatively mature, good natured, always helps when asked, and up until now 10th grade has always been a 3.25gpa+ student. This year she had 3000 texts last months, 800 min. cell time, weekends with her friends, homecoming, and now she has a 2.9gpa after promising repeatedly that she would bring her gpa back up. Now she is grounded until interems come out. What if she doesn't get a 3.25gps (my standard)? She isn't studying more than 30 min. a day even now and I feel like it should be 2hrs a day if she's struggling. It seems high school has turned into a social event instead of a stepping stone to college. We talk about future, how high school is high school and most of these kids she will never see again, she understands seems focused and then quiclkly get's another C. How long should she stay grounded, do I take away the cell phone too?, stop all extra curricular activities until she can prove she can stay focused? She wants a car too and I'm like GPA plese

Of course, I don't mean that dead people make the choice, but in life, why can't they not sign some sort of thing, like they do for organs? A student of mine asked this question today at school, because there is going to be a blood drive this Friday. I sincerely told him, you know, I do not know, but I will figure it out. So don't go ahead and answer "Cuz they're dead" cuz that is just silly.
