I have a 3 phone on a 18 month contract but I want a new phone, can I just buy a 3 pay as you go. Or can I just get any unlocked phone and put my sim card in it.

The simple answer is no. As a 3 contract customer, I have some 3 phones that have been changed from contract to PAYG. Once they were changed over, the contract sims no longer worked. As for an unlocked handset, you'll have to make sure that it's a 3G phone, to ensure it works on 3. Hope this helps.

I KNOW orange sims can be wiered between paygo and contract handsets, and only work one way (cant remember which) so best to ask 3, before spending cash. too many answer's assume the "obvious". Its your cash at risk.
