Could anyone explain to me the reason and belief behind throwing dirt onto the coffin at a funeral? It doesn't seem to be explicitly for one particular religion. It seems so very final and so very painful an action.

I just started working at a dept. store and learning the ropes. I've been an associate for about 2 months part-time. I love the job and most of the people that I work with are very nice. However, I have one manager that is just plain rude/mean. I was taking care of a family of customer mom,dad and two toddlers. They purchased a box of tennis shoes and normally I have to check the size/style but, the mother was wearing them. I mentioned that we check and there was a "break" in the transaction as the mother was going to take the children to the car. BEFORE I could say/do anything my manager Screams at me "YOU NEED TO CHECK HER SHOES NOW !" Honestly, I was shocked that someone much less a manager would speak to me in that type of tone. So, I paused and asked the customer politely if I could check her shoes?" she was fine with it but, NOT with the way the manager delt with me. They told the manager that she was rude/inconsiderate of me and wanted the corporate number names etc...

I see in the newspaper that they use the term "he pleaded guilty" rather than "he pled guilty." Is there not such a word as "pled?" Wouldn't that be grammatically correct?

Ok... Agreed. It sounds silly, but I don't know the answer. I am fifty years old. I have secretarial training, was once liscensed as a Traditional Dental Assistant, have worked as a teacher's assistant, and have worked as a nurses' aid. I have raised and home schooled seven children, although this year I am taking sabatical as a home schooling mom.

I am presently enrolled in college online studying to become a paralegal. Although this is very interesting to me, I'm not sure I am in the best location geographically (very rural here) to make good use of a degree in that field.

I am curious as all get out. I love to learn. I love to interact with people. I love researching and digging up information. I also like quiet environments, am not overly active, am actually quite shy, and enjoy my freedom.

What would be a good career option for me at this age? I understand that I could volunteer, but I'd like to make some money.

Thanks for all of your original ideas.

It seems like almost everyone who doubts anthropogenic global warming bases their doubt on historical evidence, "common sense", or both. This puzzles me, because the global climate is far too complex to simply understand with common sense.

Most of the scientists skeptical of AGW appear to be geologists. This is because geologists study the Earth's history, and conclude "The Earth has gone through climate changes before, and been hotter than it is now, so the current global warming is no big deal". Many laymen use this same reasoning. However, this historical argument ignores the recent data which cannot be explained by natural cycles, as previous climate change events can be.

So some people conclude that because the climate has changed before, humans are not warming it now. Others conclude that humans are too miniscule to be impacting something as large as the Earth's climate.

They not only ignore a vast amount of data, but the experts' conclusions, based on common sense.

Law: is the strength of sin's death sting: 1Cor 15:56
Law: is the minstration of death: 2Corinthians 3:7
Law: when it is finished, brings death: James 1:15

So then is Law the Abomination of Desolation spoken of by Daniel (known only to those who have understanding, which Solomon says is grace glory: Prov 4)?

What of the four horses in Revelation: night "mares"?

Is this why Daniel finally told shut up and seal it,
till the time of the end of the law: Christ?

Is Christ the end or the mend of law?
Mt 9:16,17 says not the mend of it.
Rom 10 & Eph 2 say the end of it.

So then why are many so-called Christ-ians
still lawing(sin-ing & death-ing) one another?
