Spraying WD-40 on your belts will in fact make them stop squealing in the short term, however it will rapidly wear off and they will begin squeaking again. More importantly, being a petroleum product it will cause deterioration and rapid wear on the belt. Any sort of spray or wipe on chemical is only a short term fix/long term problem. The best thing you can do is to determine the actual fault and repair it properly. It may be as simple as a five minute belt adjustment.
Good luck and if you have any further questions feel free to e-mail me.

No. WD-40 will cause the belts to glaze, making them slip even more. There is a product available at parts stores known as 'belt conditioner' which helps soften the belts and reduce slip. This is a temporary fix, however, and a better option would be to buy a new belt.

No, don't do that.
If your belt is sqeaking, that's because it's already slipping.
Don't spray ANYTHING on it.
Belts generaly squeal not squeak.
It may not even be your belt. It could be a dry pulley bearing or A/C pump bearing.
If I were you, I'd take it back and ask them to look into the problem before it becomes an expensive repair, or something that strands you on the side of the highway with a broke down car.

Yes but for the wrong reason.
As the poster above wrote, you don't want to use WD-40 (lubricant) on your belt (friction device). Your belt requires certain amount of friction. If your belt slips, all belt driven devices will start to malfunction (alternator, compressor, power steering, etc.)
Good Luck.
P.S. If you want to treat general rubber components use silicone based lubricants. For belts they have belt treatment sprays made just for your application.

Please! Stop before your start. WD-40 is an oil based lubricant and will severely shorten the life expectancy of the rubber / corded belts on your car.
If you want to quiet the belt, spray the crap out of the drive side with silicone spray.

All drive belts should run dry, even belt dressing is not advisable
it weakens the belt and you need friction.

i feel that it the belt is loose, tighten it or they misaligned it with the rest of the pulleys when they tightened it so it will squeak, if it tosses the belt off then it is alignment, can be caused by tightening one side then prying it to tighten and then locking in the last bolt

NO don't use WD40 will make belt slippery and ruin the belt, you can use a product called Belt Dressing. This will help gripping, also make sure belt is tight
