One of the things that led to Rome's coruption was the high unemploinment in ther country. United States has the same problem. In October of 1949 the unemploinment wat up to 849,000 jobs, July 1956 was at 687,000, and December 1974 was at 673,000 jobs. Than after September 11,2001 employers cut 415,00 jobs. This is the biggest number since May of 1980 at 460,000 jobs. Even though the numbers have gotten smaller they're still to high.

I have a hip problem called displasia. To help manage the pain, I have to wear shoes that are different heights. I don't have a problem during the summer because I clue on an extra sole to the bottom of my sandles. However, I have not been able to find a pair of tennis shoes that I can add height to. I need to put in a half inch to an inch. If I do this inside the shoe, my heal comes out the back. I need to either add something to the bottom or have them made somewhere but I can't find anywhere to have them made. Any suggestions on a store or site? Any ideas would be helpful!

United States and although not a Religion, they rank #4 in size when comparing to the Major Religions.) You never hear of them gathering in the streets rioting, burning flags of other Countries or demanding the death of a Country's leaders. Does this mean Atheists, Agnostics and Other Non-Believers are more Peaceful and Law Abiding?

Is it true that if anyone calls 911 from their cell phone, can the dispatcher try to track you down if there is a GPS system installed? Will the personal information (the # will show up on the computer) will show up on the the dispatcher's computer? If you call multi-x-times, will they track where you are currently at? How does the main system work if you dial 911 more than 2-x-times? How does this process work? If you know how this works, please tell me with the straight answer. Thank You!

Is it like at the beginning you are trying to impress then once you've been with the person for a long you feel it's no longer necessary. It's almost like you get so comfortable with someone you go out to dinner and don't speak and when something special comes up you don't really acknowledge it.

I hope I'm not in a relationship like that but I know many people who this has happened to.

I have an old GO VIDEO DVD recorder and it allows me to record analog 8mm and VHS tapes onto a DVD disk (either DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW, or DVD+RW) but my computer doesn't recognize the file when I try to download it. I would like to edit the file with an editing software (I have Nero). Is there some step that I am missing to convert the analog file to a digital file? DVD recorder doesn't allow me to save the file in any format such as MPeg, AVI, WMA, etc. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

In my previous question I revealed my primary objection to the various IPCC reports. It is their “PROCEDURES FOR THE PREPARATION, REVIEW, ACCEPTANCE, ADOPTION, APPROVAL AND PUBLICATION OF IPCC REPORTS” and in particular the statement, “Changes … made after acceptance by the Working Group or the Panel shall be those necessary to ensure consistency with the Summary for Policymakers or the Overview Chapter.”

I cannot get past the place where the authors reserve the right to CHANGE THE DATA to match their conclusions.

2nd Question:
How can they, in good faith, arrive at a Summary and an Overview that do not match (i.e. require changes to) the data?

While searching for an answer I saw that "any other ways to avoid pregnancy besides wearing a condom" question. I 'm kind of mad -that guy seems to like unprotected sex better. I mean how much better can it be without! Is it worth risking getting pregnant?
