You can do it without wasting more water by adding an attachment to your showerhead that forces the water out a smaller hole like on a garden hose.

Replumb your entire house. Sounds like a great idea and have several thousand dollars to spend. I can help you solve your problem for less than one dollar. Stop and think with me for a minute. When your outside, using your garden hose, how do you make it spray harder and farther ? You put your thumb partly over the end of the hose, right ? Did you suddenly replumb your whole house ? Obviously not.

What you did is you have restricted the flow, which raised the pressure, which caused the water in the hose to spray harder and farther.

You can do the same thing with your shower. First of all make sure your shower head is clean. If you have hard water you may need to soak it in lime a way and poke each of the holes with a toothpick.

Second go to the local hardware store and get yourself an assortment of faucet washers. Will cost about a dollar to a dollar fifty. Now go home and remove either the shower head or the shower hose if your shower is hand held. Next find a faucet washer that fits in the hole of either the shower hose or in the end of the shower itself. Insert the washer in the hole and reassemble the shower. You have now effectively put your thumb over the end of the garden hose, which will raise the pressure in the pipes and give you a more powerful shower.
Some more good news, you are now using less water so your water bill will go down and so will your gas and or electricity bill because you are also using less hot water.

HAVE YOUR PLUMBER PIPE YOUR NEW HOUSE WITH 3/4" LINES UP TO THE MIXING VALVE. YOU CAN REMOVE THE WATER RESTRICTION DEVICES ( THEY JUST CATCH TRASH ) & DRILL OUT YOUR HEAD WITH A 3/8" BIT & IT WILL KNOCK YOU DOWN. MUCH MORE FUN IF YOU'RE ON A WELL, NO BILL!
