I usually get bloated at night and sleeping on my stomach feels so good. Sometimes I wake up on my stomach also. When is it bad for the baby?

Basically you should stop yourself when you start to feel uncomfortable. I was a stomach sleeper before I got pregnant. And it was the hardest habit to break. The lack of comfort will come long before you can do any damage to the baby. Plus, the baby is surrounded by fluid. So, you don't have too much to worry about. When I was pregnant and my belly started getting bigger and bigger I could use a pillow to kind of balance myself so I wasn't completely laying on my stomach but, I was still comfortable. After about 20 weeks or so, the doc recommends you sleep on your left side. Definitely not on your back. Your body will tell you when you need to switch positions.

I feel for you. I am a mother of 3 and sleeping on my stomach is usually the only i can fall asleep. My advice to you would be just to sleep on your tummy until u can't anymore. Otherwise the best position to sleep in when your pregnant is on your side. Sleeping on your back when your pregnant is just bad for your back. Baby is pretty cushioned in the womb so sleeping on your tummy will be ok until your tummy gets too big and you won't beable to anymore. Baby will let you know if it doesn't like whatever position u are in anyway. Just try to get as much sleep now and be comfortable while u can. Good luck with the pregnacy and congratulations. Sleep well!

Not really bad for the baby because there is a lot of cushion but believe me when you get uncomfortable on your belly you'll stop. I was a belly sleeper and now I'm a side slash belly sleeper and I'm 30 weeks pregnant. It's best to sleep on your side anyways so I figured I'm half on my side and half on my stomach and still comfortable

Its never really bad for the baby, you get uncomfortable and cant do it long before you reach that point.

You stop sleeping on your stomach when it isnt comfortable anymore.

I used to wake up, even when I was like 7 months, on my stomach, lol.

Any way of sleeping is safe when pregnant.

I was told by my OB that I can sleep on my tummy until it is no longer comfortable. I don't think sleeping on your tummy will damage the baby but it will just become uncomfortable for you.

Good luck from a fellow tummy sleeper!

it's never really bad for the baby. The baby is well-protected by the amniotic fluid. As long as you are comfortable, the baby is fine. And if you are uncomfortable, I'm assuming that you won't be sleeping that way.

when you cant anymore. im a stomach sleeper too (im so sad right now at 35 weeks!!) you'll know when it doesnt feel right, it'll be uncomfortable for you. Still to this day I try; ill lay on my side and tuck my shoulder under myself so my chest is flat against the bed...it doesnt work that well. sleep on your belly while you can!! soon it'll just be your side :(

When it starts to feel uncomfortable for you, unless you develop some kind of condition that the Dr. orders you to lie some other way. My son laid on and blocked off a kidney in my first trimester. I had to lay on my left side to encourage him to move over to the other side.
