My 1930-built house has a small brick secondary chimney that only vents the gas water heater in the basement. It runs through an interior wall in the first and second floors. Though the roof and flashings were completely replaced 4 years ago, I have noticed for the past 6 months that the paint is peeling and the plaster thincoat is cracking in some of the walls and ceiling areas adjacent to where the chimney runs, especially in rainy weather. I've always been able to hear water running down the chimney during a rain (both chimneys are open top) but this dampness and cracking are new. Would a vented chimney cap prevent this or do you think I have a cracked liner that will need to be replaced? Or could it be that the caulking has shrunk away from the flashing?

It's a 2 1/2 story house with about an 8/12 roof pitch, so it would not be easy for me to climb up there. Also, there is no access to the attic/headspace. Should I call a roofer or a chimney guy?

four unidentified man came out and grab you while knock you unconscious. the next day you woke up, wearing an army clothes, in a bunker, holding a rifle. you look around and you are in the middle of war. you peek out of the bunker and can't recognize which side are you on. there's a newspaper on the floor, and you look at the date, it is 1940. then come a soldier come towards the bunker..whats on your mind that time?

I always thought that being green included the three R’s – reduce, reuse, & recycle.
I know that the plastic bags aren’t the best thing for the environment. However, I don’t have a car, live on a fixed income, & those cloth bags are just not sufficient for my needs.
When I go to the grocery store, I stock up for the month. It’s just easier to make one trip for groceries for the month when I have to tote them on the bus. The plastic bags mold to the shape of my personal cart. The cloth bags would overflow the cart.
Now when I get home, I take the plastic bags & put them in my holder. I REUSE them for many tasks. They are great for cleaning the cat box, tossing out spoiled foods, little trash bags, packing material, dirty laundry on trips, wet umbrellas, etc. I have so many uses for the bags that they all find another use, some of them more than one additional use.
My green friends still say that I am ruining the environment.
I need another opinion...

I dont know what the deal is with her. When she wakes up from a nap, which she always only sleeps for 1 hr, and in the morning when she gets up. She is ALWAYS screaming!!! I dont know what to do. When she does this she always ends up waking up her twin sister, who loves to sleep. I dont know if she's having bad dreams or something/someone is waking her up. I say someone because, I know this sounds stupid, but I think that our house is haunted. When we go into get her, she cannot wait to get out of her crib. The previous owner's dad died in the drive way. He was diabetic, but the cause of his death is unknown to us.

she told me that my doctor was leaving town for a week and i think that was bull because i was and still am in a lot of pain and he couldn't see me for 5mins.So i had no choice but to work in pain and last tuesday i was at work and had injured my wrist again when it happened i had the same pain in my wrist so i scedualed an appointment to see him i went in on wenesday october 3rd and his assistant doctor had came in the room to see me and he was poking at my arm squeezing my thumb and wrist as soon as he squeezed on my wrist i started to cry i told him it hurts really bad he said he would be right back left the room came back with my doctor ,my doctor than started tapping on my elbow asking me if i feel any tingeling or numbness when he was doing that i said yes in my fingers but it doesn't explain the pain and he told his assistant to wright up a work sheet and he sent me back to work with full cap to do my job.What should i do,i'm in pain and loosing out on a lot of pay.

My sons birtday party is tomorrow & there one particular kids who always wants to open his presents. The mother is there & all she says is "xxxx, don't do that honey." But her kid keeps on doing it & she just rolls her eyes & does nothing. I've tried saying "It's xxx's birthday, let him open the presents," but the kid keeps doing it. I try to take the present from the kid & hand it to my son & say "You open presents on your birthday, now let xxx open his presents please." Still the kid keeps doing it! What can I do other than not invite this kid who is my sons best friend?
