Paranormal investigators, do Ghosts have any rights?

Assuming they are the spirits of people.Do they retain any of the rights they had in life?Or,are they fair game to exploit in any way we'd like?Hunting,chasing and generally getting into their business.Please, don't say you do it to help them.That's not what you're all doing.

We teach our group that when they enter an area to be investigated that they should always show respect. We all have loved ones that have departed this world and we expect others to show respect when entering the cemetery by not walking on their graves or thowing trash around. It's no different when we are conducting an onsite investigation. For instance, we always take the time to introduce ourselves and ask permission to come into their territory and we ask permission to take pictures. I'm sure that may sound wierd to some people but this is our way of showing respect for any ghosts or spirits that may be lingering in this world so my answer would be yes, I believe that they do have rights. If we aren't wanted in the area they will let you know. No, I can't say that we are doing these investigations to help "them". Most times we are doing this because we have been called in by a family that is disturbed about strange occurences within their home or business. While doing so we, those who have a deep desire to understand and learn about the unknown, are experiencing and learning about the paranormal. In spite of "why" we are doing this, it doesn't change the fact that we are on their territory and they DO deserve our respect and that is their right, even in death.

wow zach do you show the same concern for the tribes in Africa or south America,or the way we did native Americans in this country? Or the or the way the press exploits the pubic? It is quite funny to read your answers in this forum and the crap you write..Have you ever been on a paranormal Investigation? I didn't think so. you watch to many TV shows and base your opinion on what you see not what you have experienced .You don't have a clue.My suggestion to you is go on a investigation go on intake interview to a families home where the people are so frightened and have nowhere to turn they just want peace to they're home.Then you investigate maybe staying up for days at a time researching gathering evidence helping that family in anyway you can.And then you spend days reviewing what you gathered discounting testing it and after all that is done you go back to the family and provide them the closure of they're problem. I'm no paranormal investigator, but perhaps it would be a good analogy to compare a ghost to a loiterer. Instead of going to the light, they are causing problems by hanging around where they're not welcome. In that case, you could at least grant them something like the Supernatural Miranda rights:

What about our rights as people who are alive on this side?

These Ghosts can just pop into your house and watch you while your on in the shower, on the toilet or even having sex and we have no say in the matter! The ones that are stuck or choose to stay on the etheric level can go around causing all kinds of havoc..lol.

My friend justifies hunting deer by saying they're trespassing. Since ghosts legally cede their property rights upon death they too are technically trespassing. Since they have no money or job they are also loitering vagrants. It's conceivable that since they seem to only roam around at night in the dark they are also potential burglers.

Unfortunately there is no law or legal rights to privacy for ghosts. Kind of too bad, huh? If ghosts used to be people, their rights should roll-over to their perpetual rest as well.

The only way I can see someone being helped by the ghost hunters is if their purpose is to help them to the other side so they can totally rest, and not be worried with exploitation.
