depending on the work you are doing.. example word processing or documents.. as long as you used the compatibility mode and as long as you have a program that will open up the work.. you should be able to open it up on the XP..

Ignore the other people with their negative comments, Windows Vista⢠is an amazing OS, innovative and a great leap forward in software technology (yes i do work for ms).
Moving on to your question this all depends on what you mean by work, if your referring to Microsoft Office documents, then yes you can open documents that were originally created whilst running Vista in Windows XP.
If however your referring to Office XP, then you may need to download an Office Compatibility Pack from the MS website which will allow you to open the new XML format of Office documents from Office 2007.
You can refer to www.microsoft.com and type "office compatibility pack" in the search bar, it should be the first result returned.

Yes, you can open all files and folders in windows xp when you have saved it to vista, because both are compatible with each others.

I should think not (But it's just aother money grubbing exercise from Microshite isn't it? What work? Most of my stuff would not be backwards-compatible if I was dumb enough to pay for Vista.)
