But they surveyed my house valued it, and agreed to give me 70 per cent , have proof of earnings, have not asked my permission to do a check. Plus it is a Spanish bank whom I have had an account always in black for 4 years. Was simply wondering if Spanish can get a check done?

thye will not do a british credit check officially they are not allowed access to the database under UK LAW DATA PROTECTION ACT. THEY WILL BASE THE DECSISION ON YOUR SPANISH RESIDENCY ONLY.
But they may do a back door check especially if you are getting a mortgage from a amalgated spanish/uk company like for instance Santander/ abbey national and they would not inform youthey are doing so. your application will be based on a spanish credit information file and your credit history in spain only OFFICALLY GET THE IDEA THEY MAY DO A UNOFFICIAL CHECK IF THEY ARE NOT SURE
