my friend completely shuts down when she's insulted or confronted. When she's in public she just gets flustered and doesnt say anything. When she's at home, and someone confronts her, or insults her, she puts on her head phones and cranks her music so she cant hear anyone or anything, and then its like she gets lost in her music. Sometimes she even puts on sunglasses, like she's trying to completely shut herself off from anybody around her. She does that in the car too, if someone says something that she doesnt know how to react to, she'll just crank her music. Is something wrong with her? Why does she do that?

We're moving. My wife and I are wedding photographers and are planning to set up our business in Birmingham. We'd like to live in a nice quiet, safe area with good public transport, cheap housing (if there's such a thing) and things to do/see. Interested in hiking, photography, nature, art and history.

I opened the gait yesterday while I was home and he split within about 3 minutes. I always water him and feed him in the morning, and he hangs out in the yard and eats then we usually head for a walk on a leash and on Saturdays he gets a bath. Not yesterday. He disappeared and I searched everywhere for him. I called the neighbors and notified everyone I was hunting for my dog. I even called the local grocer to let them know he disappeared. I took my truck to his favorite swimming holes and he was just gone.
Finally last nite, I called the police and they said he was turned in at about 4 pm. He is in the pound. What do I have to do to get him back? He is tagged.. No one called

I've read that some symptoms of bi-polar include constant writing and telling great stories of what apparently appears to them (usually spiritual encounters).
My bf is bi-polar, and I used to think that his stories and writings were fascinating and very interesting. But after hearing them over and over again, I've started to feel like telling him to just shut up... that I no longer care about his stories, no matter how much he believes that he is the son of god or some kind of heaven-sent angel... etc.
Please let me know if gone or going through a similar experience and how to handle it.

Considering all of his offensive weapons & the way he has been playing so far... he is tops in all QB categories... Tom Brady has a better chance then anyone else to throwing 50 TD passes. Though it is true... QB's tend to cool off as the season progresses & it will be alot more difficult to keep throwing touchdowns as the season winds down just from the quality of opponents the Patriots will have to face, but... do you think he has a good shot? If he did... he would apparently be a shoe in for league MVP. Thoughts on that?

Besides checkups when I was a toddler and younger I have never been to the doctor because my family does not have medical insurance and could not afford it. I am 17, just started college and want to go, to be on the safe side, to make sure I am healthy. My mom says I do not need to go because nothing is technically wrong with me. I still want to go though, because I think it would be good and money is not an issue for me anymore. But....should I????????
