If the atheists were to be in charge of who gets into heaven, most Christians wouldn't get in.

Sorry, I didn't get the right use of the word ironic, but many of you have assumed I'm an atheist when I'm actually a born again Christian. I was responding to some people on here who think that good works or being 'nice' are the best way to decide who goes to heaven. God alone is righteous enough to judge. My apologies if you were mislead or upset by my question

Aren't we lucky that they have no part in it since they don't believe in anything. In the end it is us that will decide by how we live our life. God gives us free will to make decisions. We know what he expects from us and it's up to us whether we enter the Kingdom of Heaven by how we live our lives.

So, there's St Peter and me, the Atheist, standing at the Pearly Gates chatting about who gets in and who doesn't. "How long you been here?" I'd ask him. "Oh, a couple of thousand years." He'd answer. "Bit of a long shift, that." I'd say, then send him off for a break. No doubt, you can guess what would happen next...Those gates would be slung wide open and every nutter, psycho and hoodie would be more than welcomed...Hey, I used to be a doorman: the bag guys tip the best!

The Christian entry form for heaven goes like this: Anyone can go to heaven including Rapists, paedophiles, murderers, *******, *******, *****, ******, thief's, liars, haters, racists, xenophobes, homophobes, Misogynists, torturers, tyrants and ****, Just so long as you say you're sorry and except Jesus as your "saviour".
Everyone else, however good, caring, moral, helpful and decent they are can go to Hell, because they have committed the ultimate crime and chosen to use reason and logic.

By these true christian standards, I'm afraid you'd find that any Atheist in charge of who gets into heaven would let all the Christians in, lock the gates and throw away the key!

i agree with some of the answers. athiests do not believein heaven. only God is in charge
Read John 3 16 and read how muchGod loves the world. If we know Gods forgiveness and Jesus as our Saviour then we will know our sins forgiven and be assured of eternity in heaven.
and you think that athiests would be in charge of Heaven???
Gods love to you Slayer

Believing that there is an after world but not a heaven. And that we all end up in the same place, I surpose the christians are right, our (nonchristian) existence would be hell, with them pushing their dogma in our ears all the time.

That is not irony,

Irony would be converting to a faith, despite the arguments from your atheiest partner, spending all your money at the 11th hour to ensure that you were allowed into the heaven, all your time at church, - and discovering that when you get to the gates of heaven, you are not allowed in, because you have chosen the wrong religion, thus have broken some minor rule, but your atheiest partner is invited in with handshakes because he has not broken any of the rules.

If there's a God who is in charge of heaven, most Christians won't get in either.

Many christians may be surprised to find they're not in heaven. To many of them are being judgemental and putting everyoneelse down instead of taking care of their own life.

What are you going on about? Don't mean to be rude but like many point out, atheists don't believe in heaven. I think you should think before you type, no offence.

As you say.

Judgemental is not the word.

Have you noticed that the biggest complainers are the ones who do most, the thing they complain of in others?

I am so glad that it is God Who is the Judge.
