We all know that stocks gap up or down sometimes, but since there is minimal buying or selling while the market is closed what makes a stock close at $50.00 on thursday and open at $51.00 friday morning?

Both of my great grandparents were born and lived in Ireland, and they sent my grandmother to England when she was young, and they basically fled Ireland because of poverty.

Question, can I claim Irish citizenship then? I also have a bachelors degree, so I could contribute to the economy. Thanks!

First, allow me to paint you a picture....
I am Australian born and a very patriotic person, I love my country. I am half Indian and half Polish, I am very proud of my heritage as well. My mother was born in India and came over here at the age of two. As you can imagine, I was brought up to be very tolerant of other religions and ethnicities.
I am not racist, nor am I religious. I don't hate muslims or anyone else who is religious.
However, I have realised that since the "War on Terror" began my morals have been stretched to the limits.
I live in Brisbane, Australia, and the other day on the bus a man sat down next to me, obviously of Indian or similar descent. He was cradling a bag, and I actually found myself to be quite nervous, I was shocked at that fact.

Personally, I blame the "War on Terror" for creating one of the largest fears in the world. Adolf Hitler did the same with the Jews. What are your thoughts?

i drive a 1990 honda civic with a 4 cyl, 4 speed. Front wheel drive.
When i turn right and accelerate from stop, my left front side makes a steady knocking, i can feel it in the steering wheel.. does anyone have a clue to what it is.. i have yet to inspect the car but was hoping to get some feedback from someone that suffered the same problem..

I just started a new job as a hostess at a restaurant and after I got home I started to cry wondering if I had made a mistake. I want to quit sooooo badly but I don't know if I should. My fiance is in Culinary School in Houston and we would like to open a restaurant in the future. I just graduated from college and am working for now but we would like to know how much it would take to open a restaurant. He will probably get some experience as a chef in a restaurant before we make the leap but we would like to know what we can look into now. If you wanted to have an upperscale...say steakhouse...would you have to sell part of the business at the beginning to even afford it?

What are the disdadvantages of having a completely plain face? My face is attractive so I'm not worried- but my friend has a completely plain face. (poor thing) Some people have beautiful faces, some people have faces that aren't completely beautiful but still attractive, and some people have completely plain faces (not attractive at all)

i need an idea that follows these standards- i must find 3 different sources for it, no living things, imust be able tomake a question out of it, and i must be able to follow the scienitific method.
