Why does the government charge for blue and grey boxes? I live in Canada so I don't know if it's different in different countries.

i myself have no problem payng for the recycling boxes myself, but what about in less economically stable areas. People on welfare or living paycheck to paycheck, trying to get by?

Where I live, the recycling box is part of trash service, no extra charge.

I live in the UK and the blue recycling bins are provided by the local council. Other containers are available at a discounted price, for those items the Local Council does not yet collect such as glass. You can take your glass in anything you have to be recycled, from a cardboard box to an old washing basket, it does not have to be a special container.

I have lived in different areas of the US and each place had its own way of recycling. Some provide the container, some charged for the container, others gave the container free but charged for each bag of garbage to entice people to recycle. Each city makes their own deal with the disposal companies so they each have a different way of doing things.

I live in Norway.
Its free for the recycling boxes.

They Probably charge money because they dont care about the environment...just the money.

You should still recycle though.

Here (US) it goes state by State and County by County.

they have to pay the people to make them and if you dont want to buy 1 use a cardboard box it is recycle too

Mine came with the house. This has been true in three different cities here in the U.S.
