My little buddy goes up to the top of the tank and floats there for extended periods. He isn't tilted and doesn't seem off-balance when he does this, and I can still see him breathing through his mouth. He swims normally around the tank (2.5 gal) without any problems. I know that Bettas are labyrinth fish which breathe normal air like we do, but he's staying up at the top for several minutes at a time. Is this normal? Also, he has not been eating his pellets and I really don't know when I'll get a chance to go to the pet store to get a different kind (such is life as a college freshman). I've read that bettas are very picky eaters. Will he eat if he gets too hungry, even if he doesn't like the food? I don't want my new lil friend to starve to death! :(

P.S. : Thanks very much to all the people who answered my previous question. I appreciate the help and he seems to be doing better now that I have a lamp over his tank. :)

I had often wonder how come it's ok for someone to break into your house, get hurt and sue.. Where is the justice in that. What about when someone breaks in without a wepon and steal's from you. The only rights you have is to call the law because if you shoot the criminal than you will be put in jail because no matter what you do to protect your family it seems the law has to side with the guilty party instead on the innocent...How many people see a problem with that.

The seller purchased the home a few months ago, fixed it up and is now selling it. During an open house last weekend, someone who used to live in the home 3 years ago told me about the problems that the property used to have (water leaks, etc). Also, he said that when he purchased the home, he was told that the previous owner had died in the home. Shouldn't this now be disclosed by me to any current interested buyers of the home? Obviously the current seller doesn't know any of these things, since he never actually lived in the home. Do I just casually mention it to the potential buyers, or should I document this in some way? The guy signed my open house log so I have his number btw...

I used to eat shrimp a lot without problem but here in the past year, shrimp and scallops make my throat feel like it is swelling shut. Is this imagined? I stopped seafood for a while but had some crab legs last night without problem. Is a seafood allergy all seafood or could it be limited to shrimp and scallops? Is this all in my head?

Why is global warming occuring? What are we as humans doing to contribute to this problem

Hi i have recently read a short story which consists of the human issue of family conflict

Son “My mother is dead but I have another old woman in her place”
Father: “When he shouts his voice breaks high like a woman.”

After a tragic incident (mother died) conflict arose as niether charcter is able to express there 'real' feelings towards each other.

Both charcters 'son' and 'father' miss the mother terribly. They blame each other for her death. So why are the criticising each other for acting like woman!

I uh..hope I spelled that right. Anyway, let's say, I'm 17 (which I am), and that I'm an atheist (which I am). Now let's get fictional and say I never believed in any God or deity, or Jesus or any storybook. Now: I'm 17, and have been atheist all my life.- But not for lack of wanting to believe in God or Jesus. (We'll assume Biblegod and his wedlock, Jewish zombie son are the only other alternatives). Let's say the reason is, is that I've been waiting for a sign. Some sort of devine intervention in my life. Something noticable that couldn't had possibly ben done by any man or act of nature, something that Jesus was doing to make me believe. But I've seen nothing, felt nothing, and in lack of the apparent existance of Jesus, I remain atheist until fruther notice. Will I go to hell?

For that matter, isn't that the plight of EVERY atheist? Surely no atheist who 'felt' the presence or existance of Jesus or biblegod would continue to be atheist. Why do we go to hell, if we are WAITING?

I have little information to search with in looking for my biological parents. My adoptive parents have told me all they could and I would like to know if there is anyone out there who could help me in beginning this long and tedious task. I want to know, but then I don't want to find something that I would have been better off not knowing. Please help me, I'm confused and unable to function..

I went on an audition that would have been perfect for me but because I only had 2 hours to prepare for it, I really was unfamiliar with the material and it showed. The script sides were given out the night before at 7pm but I had to work until 11pm. So, I studied it until 1am. I had also scheduled to work at the time they wanted me to audition at 2:45 pm the next day, so I rescheduled the audition for 10:30 AM. I woke up at around 8:30 AM and studied it for another hour. Should I tell my agent that I blew that audition because I didn't have enough time to prepare, so that he knows its not beacuse I have no skills. I'm worried that the casting director gave him bad feedback about me and I want him to still have faith...

I have a tall ( 5 ft) bush in front of my house that has purple leaves with some green spots. It's definately a perrinial. I live in zone 5. It's never flowered but I suspect that it can because there are little buds on it. I'd really like to know what it is so I can buy another and plant it on the other side of my garden. Any help would be appreciated.
