I once lived on a farm so I was pretty callous when animals normally passed away, but when I had to put down one of my dogs I cried and cried, and even now, almost a year later, thinking about it too much really makes me sad.

I realize they are just animals, but have you experienced real grief for one of your pets at any time?

Johnny and his wife went to the State Fair every year. Every year Johnny would say, "I'd like to ride in that aeroplane."
And every year his wife would say, "I know, Johnny, but that aeroplane ride costs ten dollars, and ten dollars is ten dollars."
This one year Johnny and his wife went to the fair and Johnny said, "I'm 71 years old. If I don't ride that aeroplane this year I may never get another chance."
" That aeroplane ride costs ten dollars, and ten dollars is ten dollars.", replied his wife.
The pilot overheard them and said, "Folks, I'll make you a deal. I'll take you both up for a ride. If you can stay quiet for the entire ride and not say one word, I won't charge you, but if you say one word it's ten dollars."
Johnny and his wife agree and up they go. The pilot does all kinds of twists and turns, rolls and dives, but not a word is heard. He does all his tricks over again, but still not a word.
They land and the pilot turns to Johnny,

I have just recently had a steel plate put on my right collarbone to correct a bad break. I am an avid 3 gunner and I am a little concerned about returning to the sport. I don't think there will be a problem with the AR15 or the pistol. I am a little more concerned with the 11-87. Has anyone had this similar situation? If so, how did it turn out?

I removed the lint and dust from my dryer as well as the plastic tube attached to the back of the dryer a few weeks ago. I reattached the thin plastic tube however, I am finding that the exhaust is now escaping into my house. Is this exhaust harmful to my family if it's breathed in? Also, what do you think may be causing this? Should I replace the plastic tubing for a more sturdy one? Thanks.

I've noticed people ask similar questions on here about smoke detectors beeping only to receive glib, even rude, responses telling them that they need to change the batteries. Before anyone suggests that to me, I'd like you to know the alarm does NOT operate on batteries and is connected directly the wiring in my house. It doesn't even have a backup battery (not good, but I had nothing to do with the construction of the house and until I can get an electrician to change it out for me, I'm pretty much stuck with what I have).

Now that we have that out of the way, it is made by Lifesaver, and has a "Hush" button and a "Reset" button. I have pressed both. I have reset the breaker that controls the alarm at the breaker box. Nothing has worked. Anyone have any suggestions on what I can do? I thank you all in advance!

A surgeon was retiring from his long and rewarding career as a specialist in circumcision. Throughout his career, he had saved the for**kins of his patients in specimen jars as momentos, and now wished to fashion them into a souvenir.

So he brought his hundreds of specimens to a leathersmith, and asked him to craft an article of fine artistic quality. "I'll see what I can do," said the artisan, "Check back with me in one week."

The surgeon returned one week later, eager to see what magnificent article the leathersmith had made for him. The leathersmith presented him a wallet.

"All those for**kins and you only make me a wallet?" exclaimed the surgeon.

The leathersmith replied "Yes, but if you stroke it, it becomes a briefcase."

only do it for themselves. People make all kinds of excuses, but basically adoption is the most selfish thing you can do, the adoptive parents are worse than the birthparents, they are the ones who want to buy babies.
Don't you agree that it's time to ban adoption?

Hi

You know how you have an introduction paragraph...

then you have paragraph one.
This paragraph starts off with a "topic sentance", then you go on to explain this point...

My question is, what do you write in the last sentance of this paragraph? Do you link it back to the topic sentance at the start of the paragraph? or do you link it back to the overall topic question?

thanks!

In 1918, the US and Canada were devastated by an epidemic of the flu. However, this was a particularly dangerous form of the flu that killed large portions of the population. At the time, this was far more important than Woodrow Wilson's Crusade to Spread "Democracy" that led to the rise of Hitler and Stalin (also known as WWI and the "Great" War).

However, it is forgotten shortly afterward and is not ever brought up

Could this be because people back in the early 1920s were in denial and simply decided to forget the awful Flu epidemic?

I am an atheist, but I'm willing to entertain the idea of god and heaven if I can find proof of it. In my opinion the bible isn't proof because it was written and translated by the hands of man. I'm not looking to be converted so please don't preach, my path to enlightenment is one I must travel alone.
I have been reading Stephen Hawking books about the universe and if the universe began with a "big bang" that means that there was a moment of creation (a day when there was no yesterday). The universe started as an atom and exploded and now it is expanding at an ever increasing rate. What is beyond the edges of the universe? If it's expanding then it must be expanding into an empty area? What is this area beyond the universe and does it have an end? Could the universe be forced by bounderies to stop expanding? Where does heaven fit into the picture? could heaven be in this empty space somewhere? If so, what do you think will happen when the universe reaches it? Thank you!
