My very happy, content, bubbly 2.5y.o. daughter has a great imagination and is always playing games with her toys - she makes them talk and play and have adventures etc. (very funny to watch!) Lately she has lots of games where her toys are crying and inconsolable. Sometimes it is Cinderella crying because she can't go to the ball, and sometimes the toys are just sad. i can't really get a reason out of her. She also makes me draw sad, frowny faces whenever we are drawing.
Our daughter rarely cries, herself, because she is sad. Only if she is cross because we won't let her have/do something (typical toddler!) She doesn't have irrational fears, night terrors, hasn't had any major changes in her life, and she has a mum and dad who love her heaps, and give her loads of love and attention.
Any advice? Does she have some deep-seated sorrow that she just can't express? Or is it just a silly phase that she is going through while she comes to terms with her different emotions.
