Consumer A buys the *shiny new gadget version 3.2." In two months time, "Oh my god, I must get the new shiny gadget version 3.3 ! The version 3.2 is now obsolete!"

My co-workers at work, that's all they can talk about. I have long avoided getting caught up in this, but the consumerism is so pervasive that I am near the point of submitting.

It almost an "if you can't beat 'em, join 'em" situation. *sigh*

This is the first the time I have used this site to have someone answer my question.. although its not really a question, its more of wanting input from others... I know this may be cheesy, but if I could get others to share their input, Id really appreciate it. Ive never admitted to having depression, but unfortunately I do. I wish it would just go away, but it never does and it has become worse and worse. (please don't judge me) i don't want to have to be put on medication, or seek "professional" help. no one knows what really goes on inside someone else's head. Although they may have a piece of paper claiming they do. So i guess my question is who else out there on internet land has experience with depression.. I want some feedback not only on the positives but the negatives, since I am one who tends to listen to both sides before making a rational decision. i know for one, that I am not well. I just dont know how to handle it at this point in my life. damn I ran out space to write.

I am a medical student. I had a GF and the one who I loved(loving) most in the world probably and she loved me a lot than me. Without having any proper reason she leaved me 2-3 months ago. Now I feel a deadly dark. Even I don't feel such attraction or attitude towards anyone.

Now I can't concentrate on anything and I don't like to move with others even. As you know as a med student, I've got much works to do. So I need to overcome this.

What should I do? please help me...

OK. when u r a kid, u get many lessons on honesty, truth, peace and many other good good things. Do we really take care of those moral values in our lives? Isnt it impractical to give such education to a kid, when he doesnt find that working in real life? Who is truthful now a days? n if truthful, is he successful? if u spk truth all the time u r not at all respected so u have to go for middle path , means manipulation, right? so why should we guide the next generation in wrong way? why not go teach them to be practical and too much manipulative? can we be a lil realistic to our kids?

What a loss

Life is such a loss
When somebody else is the boss

You who are nothing, how can you expect to win
If somebody else has already decided that you belong in a bin

Nothing to be seen, no where to go
No vision, no light
Just gloom and doom in sight

But I will trust in the Lord
For I know His promises
Therefore I will wait and be still
For He has paid the final bill

Now I am free and
Can be me
Just as I am
He as accepted me

About four weeks ago I fell and hit my forehead on corner of a piece of furniture. I had a black eye afterwards and large bruise on my temple and below the eye on the cheek as well. The doctor said I was okay and sent me home. He took an x-ray and said that it didn't show any damage. While the black eye is healed I have a noticable ridge in my skull that runs from just under my hair line down through the temple to my eye sockett as well as from the lower part of the eye sockett to the middle of my cheek bone. Is it possible that the doc was wrong? It is really sore and I have occasional headaches in that temple area but nothing over whelming. Since so much time has passed, is it worth it to go somewhere else and have another doc look at it?

I believe that one of the biggest reasons many people fail in what they do, is because they fail to do what they know. Pursuing without diversion one's gifts in this modern society--which practically screams at the mind to learn a thousand things it wasn't built for--may make it very difficult to succeed; but in the end, it will make it impossible to fail.
