I believe that one of the biggest reasons many people fail in what they do, is because they fail to do what they know. Pursuing without diversion one's gifts in this modern society--which practically screams at the mind to learn a thousand things it wasn't built for--may make it very difficult to succeed; but in the end, it will make it impossible to fail.

Life is complicated. Many people do what they do best but still unsuccessful. For example, singers or other artists, many of them have perfected their craft but still at the bottom of the ladder of success. Many degree-holder professionals who graduated with flying colors have the same or sometimes even less success than their counterparts who don't know more than they do. I guess, what's needed is to know where to look for the golden opportunity to match the talent.
