OK. when u r a kid, u get many lessons on honesty, truth, peace and many other good good things. Do we really take care of those moral values in our lives? Isnt it impractical to give such education to a kid, when he doesnt find that working in real life? Who is truthful now a days? n if truthful, is he successful? if u spk truth all the time u r not at all respected so u have to go for middle path , means manipulation, right? so why should we guide the next generation in wrong way? why not go teach them to be practical and too much manipulative? can we be a lil realistic to our kids?

You ask a good question and I'm giving it a star.

Do schools teach (or imply) that morality leads to success? Or happiness? Or respect? If you have that idea, then the schools have failed.

Moral acts are not moral at all if they were done with the hope of a reward, e.g. success, happiness and respect. Moral acts done because of society pressure (manipulation as you say) are not moral at all.

Morality has to include a moral authority to whom we are obligated to respect. That can only be God. If we don't make God the center, then we will simply lower the standard for moral behavior to meet whatever behavior we exhibit. Our human capacity for self deception will carry us through.

The most respected and valued employees(and neighbors, friends etc;) practice
moral values because it is right, it is spiritual and the world will improve when people once again believe in doing the right thing for each other, instead of lying and ripping off. Im crippled and home bound. Every time a new caregiver comes, they steal anything not tied down.
One even brought a huge basket to put the silver and whatever else she could get in there. They stole my blankets and sheets and towels and all my silverware.
they stole my sandals and socks, razors,
knives, forks, flashlights, and whatever change is around. I was kind to them, even fed them and they got paid well.
What comes round, goes round. This is a rule to live by. It's karma or whatever you want to call it. I have never known anyone without morals or good values that didnt experience paybacks and I dont mean small time stuff. The lady with the basket got deported to Mexico, while her daughters got to stay here. Another one of those people's daughter got arrested for drugs and got her heart broken cause the girl is in jail.
There's a place in the south pacific
where the natives value every small and large thing on the island. People who steal even the tinest rock expericnce very bad things when they go home. Accidednts, illness, their kids and family. Most of the rocks or whatever they stole ends up back on the island. People send it back or bring it back. Karma is very powerful, I have never been broke because I always blah blah ( I can't tell you, or it will erase what I do)
If you see someone who needs help, a little change, maybe, dont let anyone see you but give them what you can, no strings, it will make you happpy. If you are mean to everyone elsem maybe they deserve it but be kind to crippled or
handicapped, alcoholics, the poor.
Karma will reward you, every time you turn around there will be an opportunity
for you to put some honest money in your pocket.
Im sorry if I sound preachy. I have lived over 50 years. I learned a few things. I hope it helps.
A little lie if it saves much pain is ok.
Lies almost always cause trouble. It's sad kids have their childhoods stolen so young. Everyone does it, even the churches put eveil thoughts into kids heads about other people. Kids dont trust anyone, it's important to be careful but 99% of people are good. Other religions are not out to hurt anyone--in most cases. Most kids havent seen or experienced crime, except what occurs in the home when they are beat on or otherwise abused, how many kids do you know get robbed or mugged at the mall???!! Kids hang out together and that's good. Safety in numbers. Realistic
is fine but no hammering at kids that everyone is out to get them. The world isnt like that. A lot of people help me, more than steal from me. So I trust but Im also watchful of my stuff. No temptation= no stealing. I go. Good luck.
You are a well groumded person I hope you have a great life. I think you are going to do well, whatever you decide to do, your spiritual side is where you will be, in the end.

Failure to teach one right and wrong, on all fronts, will result in a person that is not moral, or immoral, but AMORAL (*without* morals) - which is a concerning thing, since someone "without" morals could be said to have a psychosis of some sort.

Morals - to an extent - are necessary for the preservation of a civilized society.

I totally disagree with you. Moral education and the practical implementation of it has great benefit for the individual. Even you cannot deny how good it makes you feel on the inside. And one should not do what everybody else is doing just to be in. I still choose to be truthful, honest, etc. because of what it does for me, and becasue it is God's will for man.
If only people will be honest enough to admit how horrible they feel about living dishonest and immoral lifestyle! And do not try to tell me otherwise, as even I have been there before.
To me God has ordained these values and principles and i believe, as the Author of life, He knows best. Living my life according to His Word has not only increased the value of my life, but makes me feel pure and clean.
You have no right to suggest that we rob innocent children of their God-given right to know the difference between right and wrong!
