I have a bad habit of pulling over drunk drivers and telling them to go to sleep or else.Really.
No arrest though.

As a volunteer firefighter, I caught an arsonist in the act of starting a fire. A citizens arrest allows you to detain the offender until the authorities arrive to make the arrest if a crime has been committed. If there is no crime, you can be held culpable of unlawful detainment or kidnapping. If you detain a drunk driver, you have to follow it up with a call to the police. This is what prevents the vigilantes from completely taking over. Don't get yourself in trouble by trying to do the right thing and not doing it right.

When I was about 10, my mom use to let me go with my friend and her family all the time. My friend's dad was always pulling people over for speeding or whatever he thought they had done wrong. It was the usual, not the exception.
As for you stopping drunk drivers, I give you a lot of credit. Drunk drivers do not belong on the road and nobody should have to worry about the safety of their child because of drunks.

I applaud you for that. You need to be careful though. If they're not too drunk, they could come at you. But really......you never know how many people you saved by not allowing a friend drive drunk.

What? How do you pull them over? Make siren sounds out your window? & no. I have never made a citizen's arrest.

No, but I'd love to. Catch somebody jaywalking, and just grab 'em, and slam 'em up against the pavement and frisk 'em.

You just mind your own business. Let the drivers whether drunk or not be gone. You need not interfere in other's habits.
