christians have a word for those who believe. it's called saved. those who don't believe are damned. the muslims have a word as well for non-believers. it's called infidel. both these words have a negative meaning associated with them. yet for some reason they are not considered rude. however, i have a term for people who don't believe the way i do on matters of religion. the word is "stupid". it's a simple word and makes no outlandish claim as to what happens to you after you die. so why is that word considered so rude to use? is it any more obscene than telling someone they're going to burn for all eternity?

My friend says they should because it would force America and it's next president to be more world-aware and diplomatic and because what America's president does affects much of the world.
I say they shouldn't because, among other reasons like national security, it would add more special interest lobbyists to prevent anything from ever being agreed upon. For example, we can all guess how most Mexicans would probably vote on the immigration issue.
Solve our argument?

Where I work at an optometrist office, employee turnover is a lot 5 in a year on average. Everytime they hire someone its someone without experience that doesn't seem to have long gevity in mind. Now they hired one of those to cut glasses which is a fairly technical job and if its messed up customer service goes down fast. I am so tired of training new people without any exp. Also, I recently became certified as an optical assitant, (my job title is receptionist). I offered to do the assitant job when needed until the new person learns the lab fully then, pass on additional tasks to her as she is ready. Makes sense right? Good for the patients and us. Well my bosses looked at me like I was nuts and sort of blew me off. I am really frustrated at the whole situation. I have been here going on two years but it appears my suggestions aren't valued nor is my willingness to take on extra responsibility. Any suggestions?

getting married Oct of 08 and i am thinking about having a candy buffet, its a toss up though because i am not sure our budget can handle it, is $300 enough? If not i was thinking of donating. Any ideas about how much a candy buffet will run for about 200 people?

My best friend recently lost her mom and now my mom is doing everything for her. I hate this feeling that I have, yet can't shake it. She has 3 kids & I have none. I just graduated from grad school & am starting a pretty lucrative job however, times are still rough from school debts. I hate it when mom gives her $ or does favors in her home to help. Mom hasn't given me any financial help since I started college or never comes and helps me with any of my housework. I want a baby real bad, but can not have one until my career takes off & I know we can afford it-she had 3 by the time she was 21 & dropped out of school so I know times are rough for her too, but I feel like I am being punished for being responsible. I hate it when my mom says "I'd like a grandchild" & my BF makes comments like "You can have these 3, or these are your grandkids" It drives me nuts, because I will have a child, just not at others expense. I don't want to say anything and sound petty. How can I get over it?

Gender is not the proper english word do describe sex I.E. male or female, so why are people so cowardly about speaking proper english?

Im not against it one bit. They should have the same rights of "straight" people. They are no different, just gay people have a different choice in gender and thats what they like. Then christans say that its a sin to be gay, but god loves you for who you are.
He was the one who made you, so why would it even be a sin?

Ok, so if you really think about it, I mean, REALLY think about it like this, was Jesus really all about forgiveness or was he more just like about this, I mean, you know how he seemed and he seems like he seems because of what he had seen, right, and hes the son of god and god seems like he seems totally and less like jesus seems because god seems like he has seen everything because he's god, right? so think about it like this: was jesus less like he seems like he's about forgiveness and more like he seems like he's seen some horrible things and maybe more like, virtue in general you know what I'm saying?

1. I think I over did it a little with my work out yesterday (weight training - lower body) and my legs are killing me. Is there anything I can do to get them to stop hurting?
2. Should I still go running today? I don't know if it will just hurt more of help loosen up the muscles and get rid of the pain.

After all they are in school for long enough and they need to have Family time when at home and relax (and start to help around the house too and learn about other non-academic responsiblities that they will need in the future).
