I agree...LAZY people should NOT be helped BUT there are MANY Americans who grow up in a middle class family. Their parents do not have enough money to pay for them to get a college education because college is insanely expensive and only a small percentage of students are actually geniuses who can be eligible for a scholarship. Since most high paying jobs require a college education the person ends up with a low paying job. They work their butt off 7 days a week from 5 am until 8pm. They come home exhausted with their bad salary and they STILL cannot make ends meet. Millions of Americans are in this situation. Will you not help those hard working people? Someone who lost their job because it was shipped over to some Chinese worker and cannot find a job with his or her skill set because all of the factory jobs are firing not hiring...will you not help them? What about someone who has to take care of a sick family member or child for an extended time period? What about someone trying to feed their children and family? What about the mentally and physically handicapped? What about the elderly who can no longer work? WHAT ABOUT THESE AMERICANS WHO ARE HAVING A ROUGH TIME? Not because they made mistakes....but because they were not born with a silver spoon in their mouths. These are real, hard working Americans doing the best they can!

You have no idea just how many poor people are that way out of lazyness. You probably have never met or talked at length with such people. If you had you would not make such ludicrous insinuations. Democrats get out and talk to the people in the community they don't sit on high horses and look down on others. Giving to charity is fine, I am sure people are grateful for what you give them but there is more to it than just throwing a few bucks in a collection plate.
If I stood a group of welfare recipiants all in a row and then brought you over could you tell me which ones are lazy and which are not?
I suppose you have NEVER ever made a mistake or did something you later regretted. If so you are indeed unique. To sit on a high horse with an attitude of arrogance considering yourself better than others is despicable. What you are saying here is like a story I heard once about some rich people who went to a temple. They were dressed in their fine clothes and had big bags of money they made sure everyone saw as they handed it over to the chief priest. When they were done with their show of grandeur an old widow woman brought forth her gift to the poor in the same temple. Her gift was a small coin called a mite. When asked which of them would be seen as better in the eyes of God the wise one answered that the widow. The reason is that her mite meant far more to her than the bags of money did to the rich men. Her sacrifice would be rewarded seven fold upon seven fold greater than that of the rich who gave only for show.

Completely understood, and agreed. My concern is the children of these lazy people. Why punish the kids? It is really hard in a country as large as ours to regulate the system. It does need to be addressed, but Liberals in general are not for supporting the lazy, but more for the innocents (children) that are a by product of the lazy.

In america, 1/3 of all new businesses go under within the first year and over 3/4 go under within 5 years. Still think that's an accident or simple error? It is, in fact, the attrition rate for capitalism. Still think capitalism is such a good idea? Still think YOU are anything other than just lucky?

First of all All democrats do not think this way. We all have our money taxed, sales tax. property gasoline tax etc. No one get a free ride. In the most wealthy country in the world do you think it is right for fellow Americans to be hungry, sick and homeless? Do you really think that it is right when we have spend 600 billion in war that has no end in sight while our own people are suffering. Some of these people just need a chance. I pray to God that you don't lose your health and become one of the people that you are hating on.

We don't want our hard earned money going to the lazy either. That would be a pearls to swine situation. None the less if they aren't identified it is hard to weed them out. Which is why I think a 2 year limit should be put on welfare services. During that time the recipients need to become educated to the point of no longer needing services.

OK, absolutely no one is saying that every single person who is currently labeled as poor got that way due to thing they could not control. There are plenty of people who became poor due to their own bad choices in life, and I think we can all understand that they should not deserve it. The problem is, when you refuse these people, you refuse them all. It's great that you give to charity, really it is, but health shouldn't require charity. Health should be an issue that requires no amount of money to have.

Hand up not hand out...
"Give a man a fish and he eats for a day, teach a man to fish and he eats for a lifetime."
I am not sure when the dems will start realizing that giving out only makes people more dependent....teaching gives them the opprotunity to provide for themselves...oh wait, thats right the dems want a society dependent on them....i almost forgot!

in short, tax breaks for the top earnings brackets enable them to have greater funds to spend on capital products (machines, examine, guidance, etc.). those capital products enable for a much bigger monetary equipment, coming up jobs, increasing our internet GDP.... all wrapped up into one creates a greater physically powerful generic of residing in the USA. besides, off that, i do no longer think of we would desire to continually have tax breaks in any respect. we would desire to continually be making use of a Flat tax equipment with deductions in the 1st place. the only turn away for you dems is that we'd choose to do away with some government classes (which we would desire to continually no longer have in the 1st place). The imaginitive tax we've top now it put in place to help the poorer people and fund classes.. properly it does not particularly help the poorer people in any respect, however the flat tax might definately. (think of a kin of four, making approximately $40,000 a 300 and sixty 5 days does not would desire to pay any earnings tax in any respect, besides as all and sundry decrease than that earnings.) in short, the dems in basic terms choose to fund those form of inefficient classes, which drain our monetary equipment in the 1st place.

I'm with you, brother. I have no problem giving someone a hand up but I have a HUGE problem giving someone a handout. You can't work because you're disabled? No problem -- we'll take care of you. You can work and you're trying but you can't find a decent job? No problem -- we'll continue to give you welfare PLUS we'll give you job training and job placement assistance, so once you find a decent job we start weaning you off the welfare once you're established in your position and can support yourself. You can work but you refuse to? PROBLEM: You don't work, you don't even try, you don't eat -- PERIOD.
