Im not against it one bit. They should have the same rights of "straight" people. They are no different, just gay people have a different choice in gender and thats what they like. Then christans say that its a sin to be gay, but god loves you for who you are.
He was the one who made you, so why would it even be a sin?
What do you think?
thanks

I think they should have every right under the law as any other couple who join themselves together through marriage.

How would I know- Homosexuality is not a deviant sexual desire. It's as old as humans and observed in nature. Equal marriage rights are not "special treatment".
Army Retired Guy- it was the Republicans who made it such a big issue in order to pander to their base. It's more than 1% but probably not more than 10%. Why would you have to pay? Do you pay more now that Massachusetts has equal rights? They are not better off in the closet- did you know that gay teens are four times more likely to kill themselves or end up on the street. It's not a frivolous issue.
There should be equal marriage rights for gays. It is absurd that there aren't.
Homosexual relationships are not similar to incest or polygamy. Both of those are harmful and one is abuse.
No one here who opposes gay marriage can answer the question of how homosexual relationships are harmful. It is because they aren't.

Against it!
Marriage is a sacred covenant put on earth by God to be between one man and one woman.
Homosexual desires are just that, a desire. I don't believe that some people are born gay. That would be like saying some people are born murderers. So if that would be the case, would it be all right for a murderer to murder? Anyway, both traits (acts) are sins.
Adam and Eve, NOT Adam and Steve.

I don't think about it at all. They make up far less than one percent of the population yet somehow have managed to make it a national issue, they are better off in the closet and I don't want to pay for anything I consider immoral.
Homo marraiges should never be recognized, and theres no way in hell, that 10% of 300 million people are gay, you smoking crack??? Its less than 1%! Period!

I could care less what two people want to call their union. It doesn't concern me. I'm much more interested in how the government is trying to exercise control over MY rights.

In America more than anywhere, we like to dictate what we think are moral truths. It's sad that we're not willing to provide gays the rights to marriage, sad that we cannot show that we, as a government, have distanced ourselves from religious rhetoric.

I consider marriage to be a religious rite, and I don't know of any god that supports homosexuality.
They actually have the same rights as anyone else. They can freely marry anyone they choose of the opposite sex.

I think the fact that this is even an issue this day and age indicates the US has NOT progressed very far...(in spite of our smug attitudes to the contrary)

so,
does that mean that incestuous marriage is OK? Or polygamy?
Once you erase that line......the slope keeps getting slippier.
