dumb question

2007-09-18 08:13:23 · answer #1 · answered by ihatenormalpeopleregardless 1 · 3 1

I'm disabled ... I have rheumatoid arthritis and PTSD. I am also of an 'extremely high intelligence quotient' ... and since I am nice to myself, I would have to answer yes to your question.
I actually think you asked the 'backward question'... would a person who has a high IQ be 'nice' to a disabled person ... but, in fact, being 'disabled' does NOT mean being 'stupid.' Even those who are 'learning disabled' (the old 'retarded') are actually a lot more 'intelligent' than you might think ... although because many can't read or speak well they are 'thought to be stupid.' You ought to get to 'know' a disabled' and 'learning disabled' person sometime ... they KNOW a lot, and you'll be very surprised!

I'm not nice, but I seem to come across as a very giving person, which many people think means that I'm nice. So, if the highly intelligent normal person can figure out correctly that I'm not really nice, I'll find that to be very amazing. And, just so you know, I'm physically disabled. My left leg was run over 2 years ago.

Of course and I would also be nice to a high person with a normal IQ.

Actually that's a contradiction because having a high IQ is considered 'abnormal' - that which deviates from statistical norms. So normal people are those with the IQ of 100!

But anyway.... yes, of course... I'd hold them higher in regard actually.

Normal people with high IQ are generally nice people anyway.

what??? Call me disabled cause I haven't got a clue what you are talking about. I must not have a high IQ right. What kind of question is that

If they appear to be then, Yes, do be nice. They may look mean, and there is a good chance they are. Just treat them nice and be kind them. They may surprise you and treat you kindly as well. I mean, after all they are normal. Any normal person I know doesn't want negative attention.

Why not? The mind is what really matters. Whether we are blind, have lost a limb, or whatever, our humanity is what matters. Plus, IQ is relevant up to a point--only. Will you love someone less because they can't learn archaeology, their brain can't encompass it? These are very serious ethical Q's. This is a very fine Q, you get a star from me.
