If you were Regular Armed Forces and you found out the folks in your platoon were all paid pre-enlistment bonuses? $20,000, tax free to be there, Would you feel confident with a "paid for" soldier next to your reg service uniform, in a regular service uniform? Would you feel betrayed?

He and his ex broke up almost a year ago, but I've heard him say how much he misses her a few times. She lives about 6 hours away. I don't think they talk anymore.

Do you have any advice on helping him really get over her? Obviously time doesn't always do the trick.

We all love our troops, no matter what party we hail from. What we have is a difference of opinion on how those troops are being used by our government.

For the conservatives: Give the troops a little credit. They are smart enough to realize that dissent at home about our mission doesn't mean we don't care about them or the fine work they do as asked. Stop accusing liberals of not supporting or caring about the troops - they do, just as much as you do.

For liberals: The conservatives love the troops too. They believe in Bush's mission so not bringing them home en masse doesn't reflect on how they feel about the troops personally. Most of them aren't facists intent on destroying our country, they are just convinced we're doing the right thing.

I wish we could all talk more civilly about it. Without all the condemnation/mud slinging/name calling. I'm tired of seeing the troops being used like a push pull toy. Who cares the most? It's not a contest, we ALL care.

You'll have someone directly behind the vehicle in question, and they sit there and wait for that car to turn before going straight. Meanwhile, everyone behind them is upset because they want to go around. I mean it may be the rules of the road, but DMV instructors don't teach you how to drive in the real world. If you live in a big city, (over a million) you'll know what I mean. You'll be trampled. How about people that stop at the end of the on ramp to wait for cars to go by instead of matching they're speed and merging?

last known event was it turn off by itself.
After that happen, i can't turn on my computer.
when i press the power button, the fan and light go on for couple of seconds then it turn off. Can't even get close to the Dos start up screen.

Does this mean my cpu burned? or other problems.

I tried reset the motherboard but still didn't work.
i took out the cpu but it doesn't look like its burned.
I checked all the wires, they all fit tightly

Is it a logical fallacy to retort with an inflammatory non-sequiter that is only tangentially related to the topic.

Like for example if I say "Democrats are bad because they spend alot of money" and someone retorts with "Well Republicans spend alot of money too!"

Like isn't that deflecting or changing the topic or something? "Republicans" in my example were not part of the original discussion yet somehow people think pointing out the flaws of one idea/group/person somehow deflects badness of the idea/group/person under discussion.

Does that make sense? Is that a logical fallacy or just a tangent or what?

i'm going to the docs on the 20th, but i'm in soooooooo much pain now. i'm taking 800mg of motrin, but it's not helping at all. i keep my knee elevated whenever i can and have been told i have borderline flat feet. what can i do in the meantime to keep the pain at bay? it's keeping me up at night and i can't get comfortable all day. please help!

I read comments every single day from liberals and democrats who say that Bush is an idiot, a chump, a chimp, a moron, and a dumbasss. And that's just the tip of the ice berg!

BUT THEN you same people accuse him stealing the 2000 elections, stealing the 2004 election, planning the 911 attacks, tricking the entire US government into funding an illegal war in Iraq, and all to make money off of Haliburton kickbacks! Sounds pretty elaborate for somebody who's supposed to be such an idiot!

So which is it liberals? Is Bush the idiot you accuse him of being? Or is he the greatest genius in the world for pulling off the biggest conspiracy in the history of mankind?

(I realize some of you will insist that Bush is dumb, and that he simply surrounded himself with smart people. Okay. Let's suppose he did. Does that sound dumb to you?)
