I recently bought my betta a 2.5 gallon tank. It came with a Whisper filter, but it was too strong for my betta (it sucked him into the filter) so I immedentialy took it out. He has an air pump in their from his last 1 gallon tank but no filter.

Does any one know of a good filter for a betta that WON'T suck him in?

What keeps a person true and honest when it is so easy to lie and deceive here? How much of the virtue of truthfulness do we uphold when we know that no one would know any better if we tempt a deception?

"Perhaps nobody yet has been truthful enough about what 'truthfulness' is." - Friedrich Wilhelm Nietzsche

It is hard to explain what it is doing. Sometimes it just flickers into a dimmer projection, sometimes the images on the screen and the windows become distorted. Colors will sometimes become inverted. It can be temporarily fixed just by grabbing the screen and sort of twisting it slightly. I don't know if it would be a problem with the video card since twisting the screen makes it turn back to normal. Any ideas?

Is it because she can sense she is sick? It's sad to see, but what can I do?

The alpha dog (border collie) has been sick for 2 weeks, and the past 2 days my other dog is challenging her. What should I do?
so far, I don't intervene, I keep an eye to make sure it does not turn into a fight. So far, it's been "friendly" but it's definately not a behavior my "submissive"dog usually has...and usually my border collie replies pretty quickly but not anymore. I really noticed the change today, while walking them and while playing with them in the yard, my other dog was taking over.
any suggestions? would it be bad for the moral of my sick dog?

would suppy a family with protein pack milk for at least 12 years. from book "population, resources, and enviroment" it takes 60 pounds of water to grow 1 pound of wheat, while it takes 2,500 to 5,000 pounds of water to get 1 pound of red meat

isnt it funny how the fathers of western civilisation were vegetarian, socrates is another vegetarian

economic facts like this were known to the ancient greeks, in plato's "REPUBLIC book" the great philosopher socrates recommende a vegetarian diet, because it would allow a country to make the most intelligent use of its agricultural resources, he warn that if people eat to much animals, there would need to be far more pasturing land.
an acre of grains produces 5 times the protein than an acre of land set aside for meat production, acre of peas and beans is 10 times more protein, an acre of spinach is 28 times more protein than land set aside for meat production.

To create a human being capable of handling Gods’ power, He would have to be perfect in every sense. This means he would have to deny all that makes him human, which is a sinful nature. He would also have to reach a physical, spiritual and intellectual maturity as well. He would have to be almost super-human… reaching beyond most other humans and their usual capabilities.

This man would have to live a life, right from birth, to reach that state of perfection. He would have to be influenced by all the interactions in his life, all the people and every circumstance he is exposed to. It is only possible to deny his humanity by not being of humanity… so he would have to be isolated from everyone in his life, because they are of this world and he cannot, otherwise he would also be lost.

This man would not even know that God chose him to carry His burden because his birth would not be of a miraculous nature, but a real one.

This is Gods’ world. He knows everything about everything and everyone. He can only do what is within His power, His limitation, which is determined through His people and their dedication to Him. His people have the most intimate of connections with Him and He uses them accordingly for the better good. However, since very few people truly know and understand Him, His power is very restricted.

Therefore, He only a needs a few who have sacrificed everything for Him, if only, even just, one person. Only one person is needed to fulfill all of Gods’ requirements, that person alone with all of Gods’ power would be enough to bring an end to all the pain, suffering and despair this world is plagued with.

That person would have to go beyond all human limitations, to become a King of this world. He would have to prove that he has what it takes to be worthy of Gods’ grace, strength and power.

Will you be ready for when the time comes?

Currently, my deck has a McCluskey solid stain on it. It has not been fully reliable; winters leave holes in it. Now that Lowe's stocks the Consumer Reports top-rated stain (Cabot), I want to replace it. Also, I recently read a deck professional's online recommendations, which stated firmly to NOT use a solid stain but rather semi-transparent. But what if there already *is* a solid stain on the deck? After trying three different types of strippers, as well as having had the deck pressure-washed, I have managed to remove maybe half of the deck floor stain, and much less than half of the stain on other parts of the deck (e.g. rails). Another handyman told me that I had "no chance" of removing the stain on the parts of the deck that weren't weather-exposed. One person at Lowe's talked about using a power sander (which I don't have), but didn't make that sound too hopeful either. Am I stuck with solid stain forever (or at least until I replace the whole deck)? With the McCluskey?
