I am trying to roll up a 2m wide and 16 m long carpet, but it seems impossible to roll it in a straight line, is there a tool for this kind of job or a quick and easy way? Can someone please shed any lights on this? Many Thanks!!!

Well, I use the tubes that come in vinyl floor rolls myself. This helps support the carpet, giving the 'roll' some stiffness. I can roll up a carpet or vinyl floor by myself, but I've had a lot of practice....you just have to be careful. Don't let one 'end' of the roll get ahead of the other, the entire length has to be rolled at the same amount, and tension. This is easiest to accomplish with a few extra pairs of hands.

When rolling a floor covering by myself, I will lay the tube so that it is lined up with the edge, perfectly, and tape the edge of the floor cover to the tube. Then roll it up slowly, making sure to keep the roll even, as I go.

Have Fun

I don't know of any item that will roll it up but get a friend or two to space down the length and help you to roll it up would be the easiest thing to me.

Invite over a Rasputin type of guy and get him drunk, then use him as a core.
