what do you think about this?

What would the aliens want with our planet? There are three major scenarios as to the noticed behind their actions:

They want to take over the planet and steal our resources.

They are explorers and observing us like a scientist studies an experiment from afar.

They want to show the human race that they are not alone in the universe, but due to our hostile nature, they have decided to slowly manipulate our species so that we will be more open to their existence.

If you couldn't guess, the third possibility is the most plausible given the data that has been collected. In our past, aliens' existence almost became common knowledge, due to mistakes on their part and some of our own.

When a ufo crashed outside Roswell, and was recovered by the military, their presence in our lives was broadcast around the world, only to be covered up the very next day by our government.

It was clear that our rulers didn't want us to find out the truth about our presence in the universe and of alien life, so they thought it better to collaborate with the visitors, gain technology, and keep their existence a secret.

This plan has worked for most of our past, except for the fact that the aliens have their own agenda, are seeking acceptance in our culture. The human race is being changed, slowly, even if it is one person at a time.

People are being abducted, tested, and altered genetically to allow for other portions of their brains, which control esp, telepathy, etc; to become active. In doing so, the human species will be able to interact on a new higher level of consciousness, see the futile practices of worshipping gods and fighting wars.

Along with direct manipulation of the human species, hybrids, crosses of aliens and humans are being made, so that they will be able to live amongst us without our knowing.

If the aliens were hostile, and wanted our planet for its resources, they would have taken it away from us centuries ago when we still thought the earth was the center of the universe, not now when we have nuclear weapons, lasers, and space crafts of our own.

I mean.. conservatives believe the government screws everything up... so why should we let them (the government) screw up other nations? And last I checked Liberals weren't too fond of setting troops on foreign soil either... boggles my mind we have troops anywhere outside the US with these mentalities.

so, why do they think they are better then working mothers? They are truly in the minority.

Just b/c a mother works, it does not make her a bad mother. Working moms can have just as good bonds/relationships/parenting skills and styles as SAHMs.

I know a few SAHMs and they are lazy. Not to stay that ALL SAHM are like that. But, for every working mothers, there is a "lazy" SAHM out there too.

I was the child of a working parent. As an adult, you won't know that. I'm just as well-adjusted and productive as the next adult. I went to college and am working on a master's degree.

In high school, I was on a varisty sports team, member of the yearbook, in the community service club and I taught religious ed. I never drank, did drugs or had sex.

However, I had many friends w/ SAHM and a few of them got into tons of trouble in high school and post-high school. Right now, one has quit school, doesn't have a job and lives w/ her boyfriend who she cooks and cleans for.

I attended a Christian discussion group last night and they continually argued that without a "moral authority" (i.e. God), there's no standard for "right" or "wrong", and on this personal island where I make my own rules, no one could tell me that "rape" is "wrong".

Regardless of how I responded, I'd like to know how everyone else might retort.

So... who gets to tell me that I can't decide something is "right" on my little island if there's no divine arbitrator? And WHY do they have the authority to step in and declare what I'm doing to be "wrong"?

P.S. Please... don't lecture me on what a horrible person I must be. I'm playing Devil's advocate here... I'm not actually asserting my own views on rape.

The diagram: http://i164.photobucket.com/albums/u32/Codefusionlab/diagram.jpg shows a sector AOB of a circle O and radius r. The angle AOB is α radians, where 0 < α < π. The area of the triangle AOB is half the area of the sector.

(i) Show that α satisfies the equation:
x = 2 sin x.

(ii) Verify by calculation that α lies between π/2 and 2π/3.

(iii) Show that, if a sequence of values given by the iterative formula:
x = 1/3(x + 4 sin x)
converges, then it converges to a root of the equation in part (i).

My 2 1/2 year old is an only child. She plays by herself at preschool no problem. But when she's at home, she doesn't play alone for more than five minutes before she starts coming over to me trying to get me to play with her. I like playing with her, but I think she needs to learn to play alone, even if it's 15 minutes at a time. Any ideas?

I am going to start sewing but most of it will be simple straight stitching. No embrodiery or anything. I don't need a machine that does 2,002 stitches. Which machine would be for me? If you know of a certain machine too, I would greatly appreciate any advice? I am going to be doing alot of scrap fabric crafts for my home like quilted pillows and heming fabric.

I am petrified of spiders and I have never seen one this big in real life, I know it sounds cruel to keep it, but haven't the guts to free it outdoors or hoover it up and let it live in a dustbag. I have secured the beaker down with a good-sized satsuma in fear that it is so huge it might of squeezed itself out and seek revenge by continuously dashing out from under the settee while I am watching tv by myself in the evening. How much longer will I be victimised by it's presence?
