If you're just talking about basic rules, then they're both very simple. I've taught people who have never heard of poker how to play in about 10 minutes.
However, blackjack strategy takes a few weeks to master. Poker strategy takes a lifetime. So, in that sense, poker is the more difficult of the two.

Blackjack is much simpler. All you need is to learn the basic strategy.
Poker is a fairly simple game also. It's just difficult to learn how to play it well!
Poker has many, many more situations that you will face, and the way to deal with each situation depends on a lot of different factors.
One of those factors is the skill level of the players you are playing against. You have to be able to assess each player, and know what their hand might be.

Since there are many different games of poker, I would think
Black Jack would be easier to learn. The object in Black Jack
is to get as close to 21 without going over.

They're both easy to learn. With Black Jack, the ability to count is crucial and it also helps if you pay attention to the cards the other players are dealt that way you know your probability of "busting" or winning.
With Poker, you just need to know what beats what, learn peoples' "tell" signs and come up with a kick-*** poker face of your own. Also a little luck in both games doesn't hurt either.
