I vacumm everyday, open the windows when ever I can. I also steam clean the carpets monthly. I use frebreeze for pets every few days, use glad plug ins in the dog's room . I wash the dogs at least once a month and brush them at least once a day, outside, to keep the hair and dander down.
My dogs are also housebroken, so I'm not sure if yours are or not, but if they aren't, it probably makes it stink too.

Also - I burn candles especially if I know someone is coming over that isn;t like regular friends or family....they know I have dogs :()

I too have 4 dogs and one in particular, stinks. So she gets baths more often. I agree, regular vacuuming, try sprinkling baking soda on the carpets where they frequent first. When you shampoo you can add something like Sam's Club OdorBan to the soap solution or just put Nature's Miracle in the tank every other time. It's an enzyme cleaner. Don't forget fabrics and drapes, they too hold stink......that's where Febreeze comes in handy.......after you've vacuumed them first. Wash drapes often......if they are machine washable......cold delicate cycle is fine......and add some OdorBan. Also use OB when you wash your floors and walls.
