I have received a few IR spectra of un unkown compound, which is a solid probe.The IRs were taken on both surfaces: glossy and opaque. The peaks of each face of the probe are almost the same for each type of absorbtion, just the amount of energy absorbed is different(for ex.: at 1238cm-1 for one face I have 85%(glossy face) of absorbance and for the other 80%(opaque face)). What could cause this difference of absorbance for the same functional group? The two spectra, often, are overlaped, the shape of the peak is the same, but also I have a difference of 5-10% in absorbance.
Around 2350cm-1 on one spectra I have a weak (double peak) absorbtion and on another spectra I have a peak with the same shape but seen in a mirror; instead to have a peak downward, I have upward.

I made a question last night, but some girl said it's tacky.

I just wanted a simple, inexpensive wedding. We are not changing plans! Invites are made already! We've just got 26 days left! We are having the wedding in a nice looking church. It's smaller, but it's decorated very beautifully. It's just enough seating for the amount we're inviting. The church has a room where they have parties and things. The room is not very large. There will be no sit-down reception. There's not enough room. If anything we can line chairs along the walls and have enough room with food down the middle on a large table.

Both sides are making a feud over catering. My mom keeps getting her feelings hurt over it cause she wants to do it for me, but the grooms family keeps trying to change her mind! I just said to do cake, ice cream, coffee (some people suggested punch, which is great, with water, sweet tea, and other drinks). Then there are other small things to serve as well.

I know that I have pretty bad self esteem issues (living in a new town and not having too many friends yet), but I can seem to keep these issues in check until I get drunk. I have been dating an amazing guy for about 6 months. He gives me no reason not to trust him, he cares about me a lot and he never lies to me or does anything behind my back. He is so open and honest and loving towards me. So of course -- he's generally nice to everyone. I think that most girls take this as him flirting w/ them -- and I do too. Whenever we drink together (which is often, like 3-4 times a week probably) I start fights w/ him b/c I'm so jealous. What can I do? Do you think we should just not drink together anymore ?I don't want to lose him.

My daughter has been diagnosed with "Central Sleep Apnea", meaning she breeths normal when awake, but fails to breeth well when asleep. While sleeping her breething becomse very shallow, not enough to keep her oxygen level up. This causes numbness and eventually awakes her every hour or two.

My question is: Are there breething exercises, or natural ways to cure this condition other than just treating the symptoms with oxygen injection or a positiive pressure air machine. She doesn't want to live with contraptions hooked to her the rest of her life. Any help would be much appreciated. The doctors we have taken her to only want to treat the symptom, not find the cause.

I am not married, and the woman I was with for 18 years filed a civil suit against me for palimony, child support, and money. About a year went by and we reconciled, through counseling, she went to court to withdraw the suit and the judge said no to her, the judge said they would not allow her to drop the lawsuit. She does not want to proceed with it, and can't understand why they are making her go through with it. It doesn't make sense. We have a 10 year old son and a gurdian ad liam was appointed, and he advised the court that she should proceed with the lawsuit because it would be better for the child.

I know this question has been asked a million times on here, and I have read the answers.
But Im confused-
I have a 2000 Eclipse GT. I just removed the EGR Valve and the vacuum hose from the top of it and brought it in the house. It's sitting right next to me but I'm not sure what to do.
I've read several answers that said to "spray it with carb cleaner", but if i do that, what about the insides that wont get cleaned from simply spraying it?
a toothbrush cant get to them.
What about the little tiny metal pipe that the vaccum line plugs into? Shouldn't that be cleaned out too?
Should I soak it ENTIRELY in gasoline? in something else?
Another answer said to "make sure I dont get carb cleaner on the diaphragm"
What's the deal with this?
Does that mean I SHOULDNT soak it?
Also, a guy at AutoZone said to blow through the pipe at the top and if it opens then it's clean enough?
[i cant get ANY air through at the moment..]

any of these questions that you can answer will save my life!
