They appear desperate for members! You can be a murderer, child abuser, thief-just about anyone. As long as you 'believe' then you're allowed in the club! No background checks required as long as you support the delusion. Is this correct?

My parents seem to think I've got both. I can function normally in my professional life, but my personal relationships are suffering. I don't sleep well, I'm irritable all the time, I can be in a fine mood and go to pissed off in a heartbeat. My girlfriend says I'm unaffectionate and distant. And I guess my parents probably think the same thing, since the last time I've hugged them was when I came back from Iraq almost 2 years ago. I was an intelligence analyst, stuck in the TOC most of the time. I went out on patrol a few times with some 11B buddies of mine, but never saw a lot of action. Once on the convoy into Iraq from Kuwait an IED blew up 2 vehicles in front of me. It was buried too deep and didn't do any significant damage. That's the only action I saw the whole time. I think I may have been depressed while I was in Iraq because I hadn't been home in 3 years by that time, I was working nights, and on my days off I would sleep for 18 - 20 hours. What do yall think I have now?

..right now, the market is really bad and layoffs have been taking place left and right. Fourtunately, I have been lucky enough to keep my job - but not sure as to how long. My boss mentioned to me that I might want to keep my options open.

Here's my question:

I was browsing the classifieds, and noticed that a position as a Paralegal/Legal Assistant is currently available at a law firm (that just so happens to be in the same building as I currently work). I pass all the employees on a day to day basis and chit chat with them on occasion.

I'm thinking about asking about this position - but not quite sure if they will laugh in my face (due to lack of legal background training, etc.) DO ALL PARALEGAL/LEGAL ASSISTANTS have intensive training to work in this field?

So many people on here believe so strongly in anecdotal "evidence" and in the validity of their own opinions, that they carry it off as fact. Why is this so prevalent in this forum?

The house is only 10 years old. I need to have my water heater replaced in a house we just bought. When the home warrenty assigned plumber showed up, He told me that I needed to pay $600 for grounding of the electical system to bring it up to code.
I dont know if there is a 'Code' problem or not. The reason for my question is that i thought if you were doing a replacement of an appliance, there was not a need to bring up to code. I thought the code check was only for new install or upgrade.
Can anyone confirm or correct my thinking?

Thanks,Joe

I'm a Community College Student and I have taken a multitude of classes and of course I am hoping to get my A.A degree and then my B.A. degree and then on to graduate school. I am hoping to get joint degrees in M.B.A./J.D., I want to become a lawyer. My question is that with the classes I am obtained so far, I can either get a A.A in either Social and Behavioral Science OR History. I was wondering from your guys opinions which would be better. Social and Behavioral Science is a section of different classes (i.e, business, economics, history, geography, sociology, psychology, political science, admin of justice classes, geology etc.) History is just history classes with some economic and political science in there. There is not much to do with a A.A. in History except sub teach and be a paralegal assistant, that's all I've seen. Which degree would be better. I will be transferring to a 4 year college.

Any help is greatly appreciated thank you!

I'm making chocolate cupcakes tonight, from a box, and I want to make them a little bit more than just a plain ol' cupcake. I'm planning to use vanilla/white icing.

How can I make them special?

Sprinkles and sparkles are getting a bit repetative.

So any other ideas will be greatly appreciated.

=) Please and thank you.

I internally struggle over whether i like happy or sad endings because on the one hand nearly every story ends happily because people tend to like that, so it seems cliched and boring to me. on the other hand a sad ending is sort of different but depressing, is the depression of a sad ending worth the originality?

High waisted, poorly fitted jeans are called "mommy jeans". People don’t want to get hair cuts that will make them look like "soccer moms" or drive cars that look like "mom cars". What does that mean? It seems people think that if you're a mother you are matronly, less stylish or drive a certain type of car, etc. Where does this misconception about being a mother come from?

I heard that you cannot stop a habit but must replace it with another one. I have found this to be very true. Starting when I was about 8 years old, I went to the gas station EVERY DAY and got a soda at least once. When I was 14, I replaced sipping soda with smoking. I smoked throughout the day and went to the store every day for a pack of cigarettes. Now that I (finally) quit smoking, I find that I go to get a Starbuck's coffee every day, even though I can't comfortably afford it. Anyone know what my strange series of addictions stems from or how I can overcome it? I'm tired of depending on outside things!

Just wondering does it make you feel calm like Xanax? can you really feel the calming effect as well as with xanax. I do realize it takes 2 to 3 weeks to kick in I was just wondering if I will know when it has. Sounds like a stupid question but I'm so tired and burnt out from everything I can't even think right now. I've also lost a ton a wight thanks to stress, will Lexapro possibly help me gain it back? thanks for the input
