It is safe to treat your hair with a non-chemical wash. like full marks or headrin (these are oil based that kill the lice without chemicals) ask the chemist what the best one is where you live as i dunno if you can get these makes where you are.
My daughter just had lice and i am also pregnant and i was told that it is safe to use. Its better to do your hair now. you will not have the lice yet as they take about 7-9days to hatch but a lice from your sisters head may have laid eggs on yours. Do your hair just to be on the safe side!

Head Lice does not cause disease, so wait until you see some in your hair before you do anything. Lice don't like hair product, so if you use it they probably won't even be in your hair. If you see some, ask the pharmacist what product you should use during pregnancy. I found putting oil and vinegar in the hair for about 30 minutes and using a steel nic comb to comb out the nics worked great.

ALWAYS consult your healthcare professional about these matters. You should never take chances with your children (Born or not)!
I am unable to find specific information other than Lindane, the chemical used in Head Lice shampoos should not be used by breastfeeding mothers. So lets say stay away from it.
If you do not have head lice, it is not worth the potential risk to your fetus to treat nothing. If you were infected, you would already have the signs (head itching).
Refer to these websites for more info:

If you're worried about the chemicals then just cover your head with Mayo....sounds crazy but it works. Lice like clean hair. You can also use tea tree oil...it's just stronger scented. Leave it on for a while and when you rinse it out make sure you brush very well to make sure there are no eggs. I've heard that mayo is actually good for your hair also. Good luck!

I think there are some brands of lice shampoo that are safe to use while pregnant. You should talk to a doctor to find out for sure what you can use

Don't use one of the chemical lice shampoo. Cover you hair and scalp with mayonnaise. Then wrap your hair in plastic wrap. Leave overnight and shampoo out. It will work!

The bottle you treated her with should say whether or not it can be used during pregnancy. You can also just call your doctors office and ask.
