I've heard some atheists say that God is fictional and just an explaination for things that we can't yet understand. What if there are some things that humans can never understand? Things that we are absolutely incapable of ever knowing...even in principle. Does that mean that there will always be a place for the god of the gaps? What if there are some things that can only be understood in a religious context?

I had some auctions terminated by eBay because the verified rights owner reported me for 'trademark infringement - unauthorised use' - they said I was selling counterfeits. I am 110% certain that my items are authentic but don't have store receipts as they were purchased from other sellers. The company is refusing to even tell me why they think my items are fake and will not budge unless I send in paperwork. My eBay account is now restricted and I won't be able to relist unless the company contacts eBay to have my auctions reinstated. I've lost sales, customers and damage to my reputation. I believe the company is engaging in unfair trading practices, using the guise of 'trademark infringement' etc. to stop the secondary market on eBay, where the items sell for less than retail price.

The company is based in California, USA and I'm in Australia. My items were listed on eBay.com (USA). They don't have stores here and I don't have the $$ to fly to the US.

My LCD synaps monitor needs a refresh setting of 65. Since this is not an option I tried 75 and the monitor flickers. I tried 60 and their seems to be interference on the screen (it twitches). I went to Dell's website and updated my BIOS and I reinstalled my video adapter. I couldn't even find a website for synaps to downlaod a driver from there. Why doesn't my computer have 65 Hertz as an option? I'm a little frustrated. Can anyone help? Thanks.

Through my time here on Answers, I have witnessed many definitions of a 'true Christian'. So I have though long and hard about it, and I've come up with my own version.

A true Christian is someone who has no need for the Bible. To them it is just a book. They only follow the teachings of Christ, and they follow His example. By doing that, they automatically fulfil all of the 10 commandments, so believing in God is optional. After all, the religion is called CHRIST-ianity.

Surely my definition describes people who show unconditional love for all humans, regardless of faith, which is what Jesus taught and showed. Therefore a true Christian (by my definition) would not THINK about condemning others (particularly Atheists) to hell.

Also they would be more acceptED by others. There wouldn't be all of these constant challenges that get thrown about here on R&S.

Have I found the real meaning of Christianity, despite not being Christian myself?

I've been talking to an English policeman for nearly two years, now. There have been a couple of times that he had to go away for a couple of months and we couldn't talk.

I am positive that he is an officer, because I have seen his photo in the newsletter of his dept. And, I've seen him in his uniform.

I really crazy about the guy and he's never given me any reason to doubt him. But, I'm really worried as I haven't heard from him for about two months. The last time I saw him he looked dead tired and said he had to go back for a while.

Do English officers sometimes have this sort of assignment? Or am I being played? I'm an American, so I'm sure our agencies work differently.

A Great Scottish joke!!!?
Years ago during the invasion of Scotland, hundreds of English soldiers were lined up ready to invade the Scottish borders.
Then suddenly over the hilltop appeared a lone Scot, shouting come on, come and get me.
The English Leader quite outraged ordered one of his men to go and sort him out.
Minutes later lots of screams and yells were heard, then silence.
Up on the hilltop the lone Scot re-appears shouting come on, come and get me.
The English leader this time sends 10 men to sort him out.
Lots of screams and yells again are heard then silence.
The lone Scot appears back on the hilltop again shouting for someone to come and get him.
This time the English leader who is by now fuming mad sends 100 men.
Again lots of screams, clashing of swords, then silence, then over the hill appears an Englishman, covered in blood, he staggers down the hill, it's a trick he stammers, there's two of them.
It's an oldie, sorry if you heard it before!!

I saw this one on Best Buy:

http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?skuId=8257502&type=product&id=1170290184554

Is this a good one?

I have no idea about things like megapixels. But, here's what I plan to do with the camera...I like going to college sports and want to take photos, I cook and like to photograph what I make, I like to take pictures of my family and my pets...I am not a professional or anything like that (obviously), but I love to take lots of photos to share. I had an old digital camera, but it got washed into the ocean at the beach. I have no idea how many megapixels and all that it had, but it was very large and thick. I'd like a smaller camera that I can put in my purse or pocket at games.

Please let me know what you think!

People are trying to use the excuse that since he is a black man he is being persecuted and will not get true justice. Granted, if he is INNOCENT, he will be found that way and the people who are turning over on him appear to have a few credibility issues. But if he did do it, he should be found that way in a court of law,and if you read the indictment, the charges look uglier than Rosie O'Donnel in a thong, so I wish him the best of luck. Judge the man by his actions, not the color of his skin.
