I noticed a lot of people saying my wife should divorce me for beating her in the past but I don't want to do it anymore. Don't I deserve a second chance if I am sorry?

Due to some major issues I won't get into my credit has taken some major knocks in the past and now sits at a "fair" 621. We have great rental history, including a year and half in our current townhome paying $1000/month on-time every month and 3+ years in the apartment before that paying almost $900/month, on-time, every month. Now we're moving for a great job opportunity for me and I've found a great, 4 bedroom house at $1225/month.

My income will be more than 3x the rent, but the bottom of the application states "a credit score of 650 may cause application to be unacceptable. Management has the right to refuse this application if the credit check, employment verification or rental history do not meet our standards, or if another Applicant has better qualifications."

Now, I understand the concept that they have to pick and choose to whom to rent because they rely on us to make their livings, but I will always pay rent... Anyone in Property Management have an idea for me?

Following are examples of mistakes I've seen atheists make when dialoguing with Christians. They are important to know for both sides so better dialogue might take place. First of all, the atheist must realize that making these mistakes lessens his credibility with a Christian and does not help his cause. Second, the Christian should know these errors so he can identify them during a conversation and, hopefully, not commit them himself.

Number one is: Atheists often challenge the theist to prove God’s existence only within the confines of science.

Science has served humanity well. Through it, we have discovered countless natural laws of the universe and use that knowledge to make our lives easier in every area of our existence. But to limit a theist's proofs to the confines of what the atheist demands is terribly one-sided.

Anybody born on August 4th, and going to be 15 tomorrow? Anybody's birthday tomorrow at all? Today was my brother's birthday, tomorrow is my birthday, and Tuesday is my dad's so sometimes I feel like my birthday is a little shared by too many family members so I decided to try to figure out how many other people I share my brithday with!

I want to get out of the corporate world and do my own thing. The problem is I make good money, so earning less than 6 figures will not cut it.
I am looking for creative suggestions....

Please note - the usual stuff probably won't measure up - I have tried...I am not good at sales, so I can't do MLM (I have tried a few times). I tried the secret shopper (poor ROI), and the paid surveys (also a poor ROI).
Adjunct teaching at the local college also doesn't pay much.
Am I stuck with Corporate America?

I am buying a house with my fiance. The house is 2 story, about 2000 square feet, has a kitchen, 2 1/2 baths, a dining/living room combo, a family room, an upstairs loft, and 3 bedrooms. We want to have a country-themed house and I was looking for some ideas for paint colors. All ideas welcome.

When I think of a knit top, I think it's something that someone knitted, but I bought a shirt today and it was a knit top, but it was totally not knitted.

I had a bf and we were together since middle school to our 1st year of college. He was my first...EVERYTHING! When we got to college, I broke up with him, because we were only 18 when he proposed to me, I was totally unprepared. I told him, maybe we should wait awhile cus I was obsessing over my education since I went to a University and he just went to a community college. We both started to change and go our seperate ways, so I thought it was best to see other people. I didn't mean right away! So he started dating a lot of girls and he even admitted trying to make me jealous. Then my stepsister pops into the picture just this year. She asked for my blessing, and I said it was okay, but inside it hurt. Now their getting married in 2 months, even though they were only dating for 4. Now he wants to call off the wedding to be with me. We both feel complete with each other, and belong together, but I don't want to hurt my stepsister, even though she hurt me. What should I do?

...rather than take care of them with the help of nurses/nursing assistants--at home?

My mom worked full time, hired a daytime nursing assistant for grandma, and cared for her herself after work. (Grandma & Grandpa always promised each other that they would never send each other to a home--or even a hospital--if not absolutely necessary, and they stuck to that--Mom stuck to their wishes, too, knowing how important it was to them).

I actually had some pretty strong opinions about home schooling, but reading some of the questions and answers here have made me feel somewhat less hostile to home schooling, but I cannot shake one of the few experiences I have had with a woman who was home schooled. She actually tried to convince me that mudras - hand positions in yoga - can stop a heart attack. Now, whether she was fed this nonsense as religious dogma or she came to believe it as an adult, this woman was either never taught proper science, never taught critical thinking, or never taught either. How to you both assure that your children are getting a proper science education (I've seen a number of people say that their children are self-taught in this department) and make sure your children can think critically?

Heads up to everyone, there is a group at UW-Madison that has done some modeling and found that they can explain the warming AND cooling that we have seen the last 100 years.

Here is the reference:

Tsonis, A. A., K. Swanson, and S. Kravtsov (2007), A new dynamical mechanism for major climate shifts, Geophys. Res. Lett., 34, L13705, doi:10.1029/2007GL030288.

It is quite the paper. It uses four oceanic oscillation systems and investigates the synchronization and coupling between the systems and the ramifications of coupling.

I just wanted some thought about interviewing with the same company again. I had an interview with a big 4 accounting firm a year ago but it did not go so well. It is a year later and interviews are coming up again. I am a college student about to graduate and the big 4 accounting firms usually do a lot of hiring in the fall. I am applying for other jobs also but I really want to work for the big 4. I plan on getting my CPA which hopefully would open the doors and increase my qualifications more.
