The Pope recently said in a closed door conference that evolution is undoubtedly real, but that it does not invalidate the Christian faith simply because it does not explain the First Cause.

Given that Christianity splintered from the Catholic Church and have inherited the Christian legacy from them (the Bible, for example), does this effect your stance on evolution? If it doesn't, it seems strange to me as it would be essentially saying "This thing you told me, the Bible, I accept as true, but this other thing you told me, that evolution is true, I do not." Which is picking and choosing truths based on what you like and dislike. To me, it seems to not trust the statement from the Catholic Church would mean you also cannot trust that the Bible is true since they were passed on from the same source. Thoughts and Comments? Thanks!

Sorry if this is a bit wordy, no coffee yet...

Are Canadians confused about tipping? While most Canadians are happy to tip the standard 15 per cent at a restaurant, it seems they are far less gracious when it comes to tipping staff in other service jobs, according to a new survey.

For the record, I think it's disgusting and nauseating, but someone just posted a weird question about sexual attraction to an object. To each his own of course, but can you say 'mentally disturbed?' Is beastiality considered a mental disorder or what exactly?

I'm going to be calling the mechanics in the area and asking for quotes, I just have no real idea what to expect, cost-wise, so I'd appreciate a frame of reference.

I'm sitting on the phone with him. He keeps puking. I can't get over there. I don't think he's gonna die, but what can he do? What should I do? He did it because he suspected something between me and a friend. He said he took the rest of the bottle, but I'm sure it was about 10 or so...

I have...no idea what to do...

Stock exchange going over 14,000. They trumpeted how great the economy was because of Bush. Now it is falling like a rock, why aren't the same people blaming Bush for it's fall?

when my ex husband and i divorced i used to write him letters pretending to be a new girl he had met and send them to his girlfriends house where he lived and had them postmarked from another state. they never found out. i think i probably messed up every relationship he had for about 10years. (it's really ok because he was the worst lying dog i ever met. we did have 3 children and i did get over it about 12years later and we were able to be friends at that time. but don't tell him what i did, he still doesn't know.

And what about Jimmie Johnson? That was 2 races in a row where he wrecked out. But at least he is ok. Not a JJ fan, but glad to see he got out of that car so fast.

George Bush is held responsible for about 4,000 dead Americans in Iraq.

Michael Brown is held responsible for 1,836 deaths from Katrina the sixth largest hurricane ever recorded.

Michael Chertoff, even though it's Karen Hughes' job in her role as, undersecretary of state for public diplomacy is held responsible for US image abroad. 0 deaths as far as I know.

Philp Abbot is held responsible for 16,000 murders in the US in 2005 even though he was not the FBI Director that year.

Alberto Gonzales has had to appear before congress several times even though it really is not clear what exactly he's responsible for.

Following this logic: Inasmuch as there was 42,000 Highway fatalities last year, shouldn't we go grab Mary E. Peters the secretary of transportation and drag her into the street for a good old fashioned pistol whipping?

She has to return to Paris to finish her MBA. Then she would like to move back to the US next summer (2008). Is it possible to make this relationship last for a year with limited visiting? I've been in many relationships before but never one tested with 3,500 miles between us. She's willing to make a go of it but I'm skeptical that it could work. Six months? Maybe. A year? I just don't know. A lot happens in a year.
