My dad is 90yrs old. Has a heart condition, and is on several medications. He has not been feeling well, and does not feel much like eating.. Although he knows that he has too. He keeps asking for light foods. The poor guy is about jelloed out. Any suggestions would be very appreciated. He does drink Ensure to maintain vitamins and minerals.

I can tell you that pureeing his food would help if he had a hard time chewing/swallowing but loss of appetite is something totally different. I looked up some stuff and this is what I came up with. http://www.cookinglight.com/cooking/fd/features/package/0,14343,1114615,00.html
It's a website for cooking lightly, hopefully you can look though the recipes and find a few things your dad will enjoy. I really hope this helps you and if you need any more help I will get with my nursing instructor and ask her what kind of light meals would be best for your dad. Good Luck!!! Nichole.

Give him everything to eat, which are easily digestible e.g fish, well cooked meat like porridge form, rice with meat and so on.
At this age give him what he wants to eat. At least he will be satisfied and this can be an uplift program too.
I have seen patients who are too restricted die earlier as compared to those who are carefree in eating!
On the contrary you can contact a dietrician, he can provide you with recipes.

Applesauce, toast & honey, and pleanty of fluids. Remember a 90 year old doesn't require much food.
