95% of the World population uses the metric system and ISO Standards (like paper size, time and date notation, etc.) which the USA does not want to use.
If the USA does care for doing business outside the USA, why does it not convert to metric?
On the long term, not doing it would cost many jobs, and would be more expensive than the cost for converting to metric units as soon as possible, don't you think?
It looks to me as as if the USA is isolating itself.

I went to java.com to download the applet for yahoo games. When I went tried install it said "The installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package." So I went to the help section of java.com, it said to disable windows installer but it won't disable even though I click on disable and then apply and restart my computer. So then I tried to download the offline version which was the other option and it says "Error applying transforms. Verify that the transforms paths are valid." I had java on this computer before and never had a problem. (We recently had to re-install windows because of a virus.) Somebody please help!

How are Christians suppose to accept homosexuals who say they are believers in Christ Jesus and in all of what God's Word in the BIble says about their lifestyle, but do not accept the idea that God in whatever person (Father, Son and/or Holy Spirit), if only asked, can change their sexuality?

In the first place you are right that homosexual and lesbian sexual behavior are indeed condemned in the scriptures (see, for instance, Romans 1:26-27). But then so is adultery, theft, and a host of other sins. The Bible does not encourage us to treat homosexual persons with less respect, or as worse sinners, than any other kind of sinner. The old distinction between loving the sinner but not loving the sin is a good one and applies.
We are not called to accept anyone's sinful lifestyle, be they heterosexual or homosexual. In regard to welcoming people into the church, everyone is welcome to come as they are. But no one is welcome to stay as they are.

Jesus calls all of us--all sinners--to change. The church is supposed to be a hospital for sick sinners, not a museum for saints. The New Testament clearly teaches that whatever one's sinful inclinations, God's grace is sufficient to help anyone get beyond temptation and resist sin (see 1 Cor. 10:12-13).

The issue here is not one's inclinations or temptations but one's behavior. The New Testament teaches that one's behavior can be modified with the help of God's grace. Is God's grace powerful enough even to change human nature and its fallen orientations? Yes indeed, and there are numerous authentic testimonies of former gay and lesbian persons as well as former liars, thieves, heterosexual sinners, etc. who make this evident.

I need to get my fingerprints taken the old-fashioned way (with an ink pad) for a passport application but it seems that the police no longer do the ink fingerprints. Anyone know where I can get this taken in London?

Okay...yes, I know Anorexia...bad, bad thing. yeah women with curves=beauty, men want booty, etc, etc. yes, health effects, death, destruction, the apocalypse...I KNOW
I'm doing it for control, i'll get over it, for now please YOU get over it and just answer if you have an appropriate one.

with that aside, if you have been diagnosed with Anorexia...I don't mean dieted and got "really thin"...there's a HUGE *** difference...if you were DIAGNOSED with it and once you got down to a weight where restricting/exercising wasn't really helping you lose it fast...what diet pill did you use, if any, which WORKED?

Yes, I'm anorexic, I know the health effects, I'm going to school to be a clinical psychologist and hopefully by then if i'm still around I will have learned to help myself before treating others...but still just please answer the question.

p.s. i'm on MyAlli and it was working...but it's a lipase inhibitor and i don't really ingest fat anymore so it doesn't really work for me

Religion, religion, religion that is all we've ever been told about the spirit....

then there is the obsession with dead people... that is not spirit either...

What is spirituality... it is a union with nature... conversations.... trees have things to tell us, the stones the oceans, the sky, fire, the rivers and even the oil from the earth have things, views, oppinions and information they would love to share with us....
Now is the time to share these stories.... we are all just beginiing to start anew with each other...

every seven years since the day you are born every cell from your brain to your bones are new, none are the same as before, so if physically everything you are made of is differnt from when you are born how are you, you? and does this prove that you have a soul and that is what makes you you?

Hi, I'm 22 and I have carpal tunnel syndrome. I have tried everything and it's become so bad that I now have to wear braces 24 hours a day.

My doctor is recommending surgery and I'm wondering if anyone else has had it and if it worked for them. Plus, how long it took to recover. I'm a full time student and I use my hands for work.

both in this forum and at the national political level? It strikes me that anyone who truly cares about this country should care about it more than their allegiance to a particular political party. I consider myself a Democrat, and i am not ashamed of the term liberal. I am not interested in what any of you think this means about me, because the fact is that you don't know me or my belief system. Let's try to raise the bar here, please.
