I went to java.com to download the applet for yahoo games. When I went tried install it said "The installation package could not be opened. Verify that the package exists and that you can access it, or contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid windows installer package." So I went to the help section of java.com, it said to disable windows installer but it won't disable even though I click on disable and then apply and restart my computer. So then I tried to download the offline version which was the other option and it says "Error applying transforms. Verify that the transforms paths are valid." I had java on this computer before and never had a problem. (We recently had to re-install windows because of a virus.) Somebody please help!

When we re-installed windows we wiped the whole hard drive and started from scratch so I had to re-install everything including java. And it doesn't show on Add/Remove Programs so how would I delete it?

Not entirely sure what the problem is in your case. The download page for the latest version is listed below. If you have any previous versions installed, you might want to try uninstalling them incase they left any file remnants that cause a problem.
