both in this forum and at the national political level? It strikes me that anyone who truly cares about this country should care about it more than their allegiance to a particular political party. I consider myself a Democrat, and i am not ashamed of the term liberal. I am not interested in what any of you think this means about me, because the fact is that you don't know me or my belief system. Let's try to raise the bar here, please.

I agree...I am a conservative and tend to vote Republican.

The childish bickering and "your guy sucks" comments get old - I think both sides do it and it doesn't help either side.

Yes

Some of the questions asked and the responses here are ridiculous.

This is a great line BTW

I wish more people would realize these people only worry about getting elected and stop believing all of the hot wind these politicians blow.

Look back to the 1994, 1998, 2000, and 2004 elections...how many of promises did the winning candidates fulfill? Maybe 5%?

The bar can't be raised if you give your allegiance to a particular party. All politicians are running for money and ego every day of the year. All politicians have lost site of the real purpose of a democracy by the people for the people.

The system can be repaired if we only vote for new people that are not beholding to someone or some lobby for getting them the money they needed to win... Get it? "money they needed to win"!

Dinosaurs and wall flowers, that's what we vote for every election. If we don't change our voting habits, everything stays the same.

I'm sick of it too. I'm non-partisan, having joined and left both major parties over the years. But, I have to keep in mind that there is a growing number of folks masquerading as adults who are still mentally in 7th grade and there is precious little I can do about it.
I also remember that it was Edmund Burke who created the liberal political movement in Great Britain. He is famous for saying: "All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing".

I have been sick of it for many, many years, but it goes with the territory, so you just have to ignore it, or let it get to you.

Good idea, but I for one will not unilaterally disarm while the right wing continues to use lies, distortions, and character assassination as their principal weapons.
