I need to get my fingerprints taken the old-fashioned way (with an ink pad) for a passport application but it seems that the police no longer do the ink fingerprints. Anyone know where I can get this taken in London?

I got a new UK biometric passport today and they did not need fingerprints, but i do think this will be required in the future.

Get an ink pad like the ones they use with rubber stamps. Any stationers will sell them. Then do it yourself. That's what I did. I even tried to get arrested in a little village police station, one of the last that only opened for two hours a day and didn't have modern equipment. The naughty policeman wouldn't arrest me even when I put my tongue out and wiggled my fingers whilst having my thumbs in my ears. he just laughed and told me to go away, LOL

nobody as to supply fingerprints and even if they did what is to stop you taking someone elses fingerprints and using them.
the taking of fingerprints is only any use when the people reqire the fingerprints take them ie the passport office

My wife (who is Brasilian) eventually got her British passport in January this year. She didn't have to supply a fingerprint. Where are you getting this idea from? I think she had to do it for her Brasilian passport right enough.

What passport are you applying for? The UK passport does not require fingerprints right now. If it's for another country's passport, you should contact that country's embassy for help. For embassies, check
