who mandate that the little Nextel patch on Jeff Burton and Ryan Newman's driver suits be black and white?
I read something about it last year, but whose bright idea was it to decided the color?

My fiancé and I have common friend. For a while, she lived a block away from us and we used to spend a lot of time together. Then my fiancé and I moved to the south end of town (a fifteen minute drive away). We would still spend time together every week or every other week. She was in a car accident back in January that did some nerve damage to her arm. I called her a several times after I heard about it from her; I had to leave voicemails because she didn’t answer her phone. I told her that if she needed anything to just call. We went out to dinner once; her bitterness after the car accident was so potent, it was difficult to sit at the table with her. She would talk about things in her life, and then ask how we were. When we started to tell her she’d say that she didn’t want to hear about anything stressful in her life, because she couldn’t deal with it. After that dinner, she hadn’t made any contact. I was really hurt that she would never call. Please wait for more of the story...

I am looking for a word. It isn't "undergraduate", "graduate" or "research student". It is something else. I think it means to go to school without getting credit. If anyone knows what the word is, please let me know. Thank you so much.

This is simply a widespread myth. A nice summary here:

"In the 1970s, there was a book in the popular press, a few articles in popular magazines, and a small amount of scientific speculation based on the recently discovered glacial cycles and the recent slight cooling trend from air pollution blocking the sunlight. There were no daily headlines. There was no avalanche of scientific articles. There were no United Nations treaties or commissions. No G8 summits on the dangers and possible solutions. No institutional pronouncements. You could find broader "consensus" on a coming alien invasion.

Quite simply, there is no comparison."

If you don't believe this, William Connelly has made a hobby of gathering everything that was written about global cooling at the time here:

Go see for yourself. Most scientists made no predictions. Can we stop perpetrating this myth now please?

So it's the end of the month, the cupboards are bare. Last night I put together a sour cream, processed American cheese sandwich with mustard and salt. It was the most delicious thing I have eaten in a loooong time! What's your oddest sandwich concoction?

1. Never, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative the same night.

2. If you had to identify, in one word, the reason why the human race has not achieved, and never will achieve, its full potential, that word would be “meetings.”

3. There is a very fine line between “hobby” and “mental illness.”

4. People who want to share their religious views with you almost never want you to share yours with them.

5. You should not confuse your career with your life.

6. Nobody cares if you can’t dance well. Just get up and dance. (This one is very important.)

7. Never lick a steak knife.

8. The most destructive force in the universe is gossip.

9. You will never find anybody who can give you a clear and compelling reason why we observe daylight savings time.

10. You should never say anything to a woman that even remotely suggests that you think she’s pregnant unless you can see an actual baby emerging from her at that moment.

11. There comes a time when you should stop expecting other people to make a big deal about your birthday. That time is age 11.

12. The one thing that unites all human beings, regardless of age, gender, religion, economic status or ethnic background, is that, deep inside, we ALL believe that we are above average drivers.

13. A person, who is nice to you, but rude to a waiter, is not a nice person. (This is very important. Pay attention. It never fails.)

14. Your friends love you anyway.

15. Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark. A large group of professionals built the Titanic.

16. Thought for the day: Men are like fine wine. They start out as grapes; and it’s up to the women to stomp the crap out of them until they turn into something acceptable to have dinner with.

Assuming everything in the universe works according to a fixed set of laws, then surely events can only possibly follow one specific path? This is basic cause and effect; events occur as a direct result of preceding events. For something different to have happened, the preceding events would need to have been different, or the laws of physics would have to be broken. This would include anything from a star exploding right down to a particular synapse in your brain firing and you deciding to do something a particular way.

I have a speeding ticket and have the following options from online.

Appearance date extension - the extension date will be 9/25/2007

Trail by Declaration Payment - The amount due is $$$. The extension will be 8/27/2007

Traffic school payment - The amount due is $$$. The traffic school due date is 10/01/2007

ITs confusing and i dont understand it. If I use the traffic school option does that mean i dont have to pay until 10/01/2007 or I ave to get traffic school done by then?
