Americans give record $295B to charity

"Individuals gave a combined 75.6% of the total".

It tells you something about American culture that is unlike any other country," said Claire Gaudiani, a professor at NYU's Heyman Center for Philanthropy and author of The Greater Good: How Philanthropy Drives the American Economy and Can Save Capitalism. Gaudiani said the willingness of Americans to give cuts across income levels, and their investments go to developing ideas, inventions and people to the benefit of the overall economy.

Gaudiani said Americans give TWICE as much as the next most charitable country, according to a November 2006 comparison done by the Charities Aid Foundation. In philanthropic giving as a percentage of gross domestic product, the U.S. ranked first at 1.7%. No. 2 Britain gave 0.73%, while France, with a 0.14% rate, trailed such countries as South Africa, Singapore, Turkey and Germany.

Does anyone know how much it costs per night to stay in Cinderella's Castle at Walt Disney World? How about eating and dining there? The video games the kids are playing or the kid for not having enough self-control to maintain themselves after playing a video game?

My brother and I keep fighting about this.....I'm babysitting my nephew this summer, he is 10 years old (my son is 11) My son has a wrestling video game for Gamecube (He used his own money to buy it) that my nephew played ONE time....when he went home, he was imitating the wrestling moves he had seen on the game, on his six year old sister. My brother told him he can't play the game anymore, I don't have a problem at all with that........but then my brother TRIED to tell me, that my son shouldn't play the game either.....EVER because it was a *bad influence on boys*

Its my nephews fault he can't control himself, not the games fault.

I am so sick and tired of everything being someone elses fault.....take responisibilty for your actions. This is what I teach my children.......

I am 18 years old will be 19 in february, and everytime i have to go somewhere my mom or my dad ask me a bunch of questions over and over again and when i go to college i have to take the train and its a must that my brother HAS to escort me, which is annoying. yesterday my brother told my mom he had to work today and she screams 'OH SHOOT, but she has to go to the place' slamming her hand on the table...This is ABSURD guys, my mom yelled at me when i came home at 9 or 10 when i was with my friend eating ice cream, I remember when i was 12 i came home around 7 and she slammed me against the fridge hitting me and screaming like a crazy pereson...SHE IS THE REASON WHY IM SHY AND ANTI SOCIAL because she never made me go anywhere, i cant even go to concerts because they end late...what do i do. this is getting out of hand

I have been talking to a girl on msm I found here on a dating site.When I was on the msm talking to here I was also talking to my friend who I go playing snooker with.My friend I also on the msm and I told here that I was also talking to my friend and she sed you talk to him or me and stop wasting my time.To weeks later she was on yahoo so when I chatted to her she sed who are you and what do you want I told her and then she sed so what do you want so I sed by.Then I bloked her from my list of chatters.
