i thought the same thing....being induced is nothing like having a natural contraction labor. When they induce you if makes you have constant contractions until that baby is ready to come out. They don't even give you a chance to breathe in between these contractions because they are so horrible. I wanted to go without any medication too, but 8 hours into it I couldn't handle not being able to breathe anymore. And just because he's inducing you doesn't mean that it will go fast. My first labor was 14 hours after being induced and having my water broken. Maybe your baby will come on his own...i hope so

Sure... your doctor just doesn't want you to go over for medical reasons... try drinking rasperry leaf tea... around the beginning of October would be a good time to start. Also there are herbs that will help you go into labor... Blue Cohosh and Fenugreek are the ones I found to work the best. These are available at GNC. The best part about all these things is that they are completely natural and not drugs!

Your water will break naturally anyways. So that doesn't change a thing. But if you don't progress nicely your doctor will pry want to give you pitocin. Trust me it is better to get some assistance than it is to be dead set on natural, refuse the pitocin, and your child have problems cause you don't want it. The longer the labor. The worse it is on you. You will get exhausted, and your baby gets more likely to have problem as it goes along.

I refused pitocin on my son for awhile even though they recommended it because I could do it natural. Yea it caused problems. He came out kinda in shock.

I still had no pain meds and did fine by the way. Even with the pitocin. I dealt with the pain just fine.

If you mean by "natural" having the baby vaginally, then, yes, assuming no complications, you should be able to have the baby vaginally. As to the drugs issue, it's your call. A lot will depend on how prepared YOU are. You need to get into a LaMaze or similar childbirth class in order to practice your breathing, etc. Having a coach to keep you calm will help a lot as well.

I was induced and the doctor broke my water and I was still able to have my baby natural. The doctor was able to put something in my IV to help the pain.

do you really want a natural birth? what are you proving? once they break your water the contractions are soo severe and worst then period cramps. some women get sick and puke etc.. drugs do not harm the baby. its your choice but its a lot more painful and i think you might be in more stress after you have the baby. and sometimes when they induce you they do a c-section.. do you want to have surgery with no drugs? talk to your dr about your concern

I know people who have been induced and still had natural labor. I was 26 when I had my daughter and I feel I am strong too but my epidural was my best friend. Good luck!

just because you doctor wants to induce labor and/or break your water doesn't mean you can't do it naturally. a lot of people have their labor induced. discuss these concerns with your doctor or a nurse. good luck to you and congrats!!
