Depending on how much the parents want you do, anywhere from $4 to $7 an hour.
$4 an hour if all you're doing is hanging out at the home after the kid goes to bed, and you're just there to because he can't be alone. It takes pretty much next to no effort on your part.
If you're going to be giving them dinner, and doing the dishes, and just generally tidying up after the child, then $5 or $6 is okay. Add on a dollar or two if bathtime is involved and you're the one putting the kid to bed.
If they want you to do any kind of housework - like vacuuming or other things like that, tack on a dollar for each additional thing not directly related to the child.

right here's a extra helpful concept using financial device. while people ask, basically say which you had to leave it as much as them. If people can't have the money for plenty, then you certainly get extra money for the reason which you would be babysitting quite of sitting at domicile, and if people could have the money for it, they have an inclination to grant you extra money to convince you to return returned and people tend to no longer prefer to pay somebody too little. This constantly labored for me, and that i frequently have been given a good purchase better than 5 money an hour as quickly as I did this. This prevents the undeniable fact that some people would think of 5 money is low-priced and be keen to pay extra, and a few people would possibly no longer hire you using fact they experience it relatively is costly.

Dang I want to live where you can get good daycare for $2.50/hr and a babysitter for $1.25.
Around here I think it is more like $5/hr for babysitting, but obviously it depends a lot on your local prevailing rates.

$2 an hour?! Are you people serious?!! Where do you live, Mexico??
I'm from Texas, the set rule here is about $6/hour/kid for a child that age, but if it was only one kid I would usually get around $8/hour.

Depending on your duties and who's turf you are on.... $2.00 - $3.00 an hour would seem appropriate. I am a Day Care provider and for one child in my center on a daily basis is $2.50/hr.
