I am looking for someone to answer my question that has gotten married by a J.P. I am wanting to know if there is any other costs besides paying for the marriage license.

We are throwing a birthday party for our 5 year old. She wants to invite her whole pre-school class. After talking to parents of some of her friends who's children did the same thing, said that a lot of people don't show because they don't want to spend money on a present and don't feel its appropriate to show up empty handed. So I thought about putting something on the invitation that she just wants her friends from school to come and play, have cake etc. That they don't need to bring presents, any suggestions?

quick history: i am 38 widowed with a 10 yr old son.who lives with me.....her no kids never married till now for a yr to me she is with child due march 2008... we are renting atm and looking to buy a house... my question is there a way i can lock my son into 1/2 the house if i die so she cant write him off.?.if so who do i talk to? and when? while buying ?before we talk to a realtor? she is very aware of this and how i feel...You hope you marry someone who will do the right thing but it does happen...( i dont think she is this way)....if i have to leave the house to her is there a ironclad contract that we can sign saying she will not cut my son out...i already have a 250,000 life insureance for him and 500,000 for her... all i what to do is make sure my son gets his share after i am gone.. when the baby is born i will open up a 250000 life insureance for her/him.....

My husband cheated on me and I left. We have been apart for 7 months. We worked things out and just got back together a month ago. I can not have kids and we have tryed for 4 years. I just got a call from my sister today. My mom is in the ICU after surgery, unresponsive and may not survive (she's a Christian). She lives about 19 hours away by car (no nearby airports). It makes me realize how special our time is with our parents.

So, if you knew that the next conversation you would have with your mom would be your last, what would you say to her?

And if your mom is fine, if you knew this was your last time with her would you treat her differently?

What do you want the leader of the catholic church to say?
